Given the chance to be human, would Wanda welcome that? Has Wanda always welcomed her mutant genealogy?
WARPED. a few years ago, she would have definitely welcomed the chance to not have her powers. in house of m, she was viewed by everyone as ‘the magnus’ human daughter’ because she made it that way. when she set reality back after house of m, she actually did it in a way that gave her amnesiac powers…in that she couldn’t remember she had any power at all. i think that was a good example of her desperation to have the burden of her power off of her shoulders, but knowing she can’t simply just be rid of it. she’s mentioned multiple times that all she ever wanted was a normal life....but this also comes from a person who was literally born and bred in chaos. her understanding of a normal life comes from a very warped perspective, and every time she tries to put herself in a ‘normal’ setting, it doesn’t work out.
as it stands today, she would NOT be down to have her power taken from her. specifically because of how much it means to her now, she has made tremendous progress and has really found herself in her magic.
i guess part of the reason that she would have so much trouble functioning without her powers is because her mutation is so much more different than most peoples? like okay, her MUTATION was simply energy manipulation (in a similar fashion to erik’s or lorna’s), but chthon’s magic changed her DNA when it touched her at birth. her mutation mutated itself with chthon’s chaos magic, essentially. so even from a young age, before her powers were ‘active’ – there was always something whispering. like her power has always been very present, even if she wasn’t using it.
