Nvidia vs Adobe vs Apple vs PC
As a writer, I use Photoshop to color correct and restore my photos from my Nikon S8100 camera. I have friends that ask me "What cards are supported by Adobe or Avid?" Adobe doesn't support ATi and/or Intel graphic cards. It only supports Nvidia and newer AMD FirePro cards. If you have a laptop that has Nvidia, you might want to check that's at least 1GB or higher. If you have a non-FirePro card (e.g. ATi Mobility Radeon) you can't take full advantage of the software. It'll run but the CPU would be used making the computer work harder than it needs to and the CPU fans will run more frequently. Older computers have between 256-512MB, but that's only good for viewing videos off the internet. Several tech sites know about this triangle feud between Apple, Nvidia, and Adobe. This feud is why Apple is giving Adobe and everybody else the figure. Recently, they went Retina meaning that anyone who wanted to get their hands dirty is forced to pay a higher spec laptop and they have to make sure they select all the items they want. It's still expensive by the time before you leave the door. I like to service the laptop on my own without Apple telling me I have to go through their policies. They don't know their own products. I've never had Apple Care because I've always selected laptops that allows you to service them—not the other way around. I'm mad that make you do things their way. Its like they're saying that you're stupid that you can't service your own computer. With PCs and earlier Apple computers, you service them whenever you like and now your right to do so is invalid. From now on, I'm going PC...
