OC smell tierlist . Because why not

Eileil - I imagine seadwellers dont sweat, but all have a fishy musk about them that's enough of a replacement, thats stronger or weaker depending on the individual. It's not too potent with him because Eileil regularly showers and washes his hair whenever he thinks it's dirty, as well as regularly wearing cologne. He has a collection and wears different ones depending on the occasion - he wears more floral scents when around friends and more woody ones when not. Doesn't like strong/spicy smells though. He mostly sprays cologne on his clothes rather than usual spots because I imagine getting that in your gills isn't fun. Doesn't smoke enough for that to be permanently stuck on him, but give it a few sweeps and you'll be able to smell the nicotine.

Rating: high Not Smelly, low Smells Nice tier

Riikii - Showers and washes his hair once a week, if he doesn't forget. He's sweaty on a regular basis and especially when having to go anywhere, but hes aware and wipes it off. He's tried roll-on before but it never helped. Doesn't have any perfumes or sprays because he doesn't really like most common scents, and he knows even if he has it he'll forget to put it on anyway. If Eileil notices him going anywhere he'll probably spray him down with something.

Rating: Kinda Smelly

Rastko - Smells like chemicals and the hospital, the lucky bastard. Beautiful smell of that ruined by the permanent stench of cigarettes and bad life decisions.

Rating: ?... Smells Nice if theyve been low on the smoking - and the other tier depends on whether youre bothered by cigarette smell

Ruzmar - Spends the whole night in the garden working, so it's pretty dirty, but washes off after that so it smells pretty normal all things considered. Most clothes are permanently stained, so smells like grass

Rating: Not Smelly

Mikesh - Absolutely horrendous. Not only does he live in a cave underground permanently working with just-hatched grubs, he also has horrific personal hygiene to top it off. Doesn't wash hiz clothes or himzelf until some other jade beats him with a stick about it. Probably one of those people that doesn't wash hiz ass. The worst one.

Rating: AVOID.

Dehorner - I don't know if the fish smell would be stronger or weaker with him since he's older. However he does enjoy taking baths - like, as a hobby. Nice hair too. Very good personal hygiene for a shitty middle-aged man, all things considered. Probably wears fresh-smelling cologne made for men, but not one of those extremely obnoxious "male" ones.

Rating: Smells Nice

Adult Slashr - Smells like blood, which isnt too strange for a troll, but there's just something else about them you can't place. Uncanny, but not bad... it's kind of comforting, actually.

Rating: Not Smelly

GCB - smells like various scented candles and incense when not wearing perfume, but when she is it's very strong, kid-oriented smelling perfume. The type a young girl gets for her birthday type of stuff. Strong, but it's not actively awful to be around.

Rating: Smells Nice

Whybie - You cant smell underwater, and they spend all their time there. However outside of water they'd probably just smell like...well, sea water. Emperor!Whybie would probably try on lots of expensive perfume though, since they could.

Rating: Not Smelly ?

Emhoji - Only showers and washes her hair when she can remember she hasn't in a while. Spends all her time rotting inside her hive, needs to open a window. Probably wears perfume (One of the ones Eileil has) but perfume over sweat doesn't make it any better.

Rating: Smelly

Kullie - Washes as much as she can, and wears floral perfume when going out and meeting people. Something that "doesn't smell cheap", whatever that means.

Rating: Smells Nice

Monarch - Doesn't do too much, but wears cologne - something that'd be marketed towards men. Doesn't smell remarkable either way

Rating: Not smelly

B!twelve - Smells like fish and obnoxious mens cologne.

Rating: Smelly

Teddie - Has an aversion to showering and bathing now. Before it used to similar to Riikiis thing, but when they got abducted they were probably treated like a dog in regards to bathing like they were with everything else...so it'll probably take some work for them to not hate it anymore.

Rating: Smelly

Anyways Heres whybie and teddii

You cant tell through text, but B!Teddii always had trouble speaking with people because of their speech impediment, the stuttering and sudden stopping annoys most people to the point it puts them off of being their friend or wanting to converse. So Teddii mostly speaks in short,curt sentences where the chances of "messing up" are lowered. They have less trouble with speaking when theyre relaxed, so with their close group of friends it's not that bad, and those people can pretty much interpret what they want to say even with the short sentences.

It gets much worse when theyre panicked, anxious, mad, overwhelmed etc. So as you can imagine those 5 months they were kidnapped was extremely rough. They didn't want to speak with b!twelve both for obvious reasons and because they knew they'd just get overwhelmed and not be able to say anything anyway, even if they wanted to talk the stress that situation put on their mind stopped them from speaking. And they had pretty much nobody else to talk to, so for almost half a year they didn't say a word.

After they got out and went back into the normal world, their speech was noticably worsened because of those 5 months, and now lack of friends. And Teddii WANTS to talk, they WANT to be social, but logically even if they know they arent in danger, their mind still acts like theyre back at that hive and it stops them from talking out of anxiety and trauma

I found a way to make the beforans story less stupid/more compelling I think

I've thought about changing the beforans dynamic before since they are I think by far my least interesting ocs or at least the ones that make the least sense, which ALSO makes sense, because they were made as an april fools joke I never deleted (originally meant as a beforan!eleven and beforan!second, but then I retconned them into b!twelve and b!teddii (aka seconds ancestor)for multiple reasons)

However that retcon decision also made b!twelve not feel like a beforan twelve, bc he wasnt MADE to be him. So he was just sort of left as a violet creep that kidnapped some random unwilling guy to be his cullee, which is not very compelling or realistic its just weird and sad.

I've thought before about changing it so that Teddii's friends pressured them into dating/giving b!twelve a chance despite him creeping them out, which led to B!twelve drugging them, and the kidnapping. However I think with the added element of him being obsessed with horns/wanting to take them for himself it'd also give more of a reason for the kidnapping and tie in more to the actual Twelve, who is famously, a creep about horns.

It would also explain why nobody ever went looking for or to save Teddii when they were gone for 5 months and actively trying to get rescued, since Teddii is supposed to have a well established, tight knit friend group. And the reason why they didnt save them would be that their "friends" were in on it in the first place, which is mostly how these sorts of things happen in real life as well.

Just realized timelessapotheosis/Teddii was only kidnapped for 5 months? Thats still a horrific timeframe but I honestly remember the freedom happening later than that. They were freed in august 2024
