The table has been....silent and tense since dinner started. The guys visiting ghost and his spouse, a little congratulations on a retirement not ending in a casket.
Only....there's just one thing that no one wants to point out.
"....simon, is that a kiddie plate?" Kyle bites the bullet, feeling a bit odd using his name, but you insist on no call signs in the house.
"Wot? No." Simon looks down at his plate. Blue with polka-dots and little cartoon sharks, split into three sections with raised walls. He looks at it with a straight face "it's just a partitioned plate, innit? Keeps my beans from my bread."
"And your...cup?" Johnny points out now, just as you exit the kitchen with the last dish to set on the table.
"Anti-spill. Hand isn't what it used to be, johnny." Simon nods, completely serious while he picks up the sippy-cup full of bourbon. True to his words, ghosts hands shake more than usual.
No one says anything after that, probably because you stomp on prices foot under the table when he opens his mouth with a joke. You aren't above kicking simons friends out if they decide to be rude about what helps him eat.
For breakfast, everyone gets a bowl with a little cartoon animal theme, and no one says a thing.
