"amor, are you ready?" he asks you over the phone. To celebrate the last day of summer vacation Carlos was going to take you out on an adventure god knows where
"honey it's like 630 in the morning I'm still in bed"
"okay you have 10 minutes to get ready, pack all your bathing suits and shorts and tanks and everything"
"where are we going?"
"I'm outside hurry!" and he hung up. You roll your eyes, groan but get out of bed. You get ready as quickly as possible, I'll do my makeup in the car you think and pack up everything you think you need. You go out and find Carlos on the phone. He's wearing his favorite striped tank and his LA hat. Before you walk in, you put your LA hat on, the exact same one that Carlos has and whenever he sees you in it he can't help but smile
"yeah mami, I'll be home before 11, don't worry, okay te quiero, bye" and he turns and has on that same smile he gets whenever you two are together
"oh hey gorgeous"
"hi, so where are we going?"
"it's a surprise" and he kisses your nose and begins to drive. You remember that you didn't put on make up so you take out your kit and begin.
"oh no no no no"
"what?!"
"baby you know how I feel about you wearing makeup"
"you can't even tell!"
"come on babe, you look beautiful without it"
"but-"
"but nothing! This is our day and I say no make up!" and he grabs a hold of your bag and throws it to the back of his car
"Carlos!" and he just smiles and continues driving. You decide to take a nap seeing as he woke you up as early as possible. You swear you just closed your eyes when he's saying
"babe, we're here, wake up" and you do and look out to the beach. The ocean is a clear blue and the sun is beaming down even though it's only 7:30
"are you going to sit there all day or are we going to enjoy our beach date?!" he says laughing. You smile and get out of the car and run down to the beach. You go to the bathroom and change into your bathing suit. You walk back to where Carlos had set up and he was taking off his tank and you couldn't help but admire his arms and his abs and his pecs and his chest and then you felt arms around you
"Carlos!"
"no I don't want guys staring at MY princess"
"girls are staring at you and you don't see me freaking out"
He looks into your eyes and places a gentle kiss on your lips and whispers "okay, come on" he intertwines his fingers with yours and you run into the water. You throw water at each other, swim, he picks you up and throws you into the water. One time he does that you decide to not come up for a little and swim around him
"babe?! Baby!" you hear him begin to worry
"amor!"
"BOO!" you scream out behind him and he let's out a scream of his own that has you dying of laughter
"not funny! Are you okay?"
You try to control your laughter long enough to answer "yes, I'm fine"
"good cause I'm going to get you" he says and you run out to the beach, but he catches you in a matter of seconds. His arms wrap around your waist and he picks you up into the air
"CARLOS! Put me down!" you say laughing and then all of a sudden you're surrounded by water. You come out and push him down into the ocean. This goes on for an hour until he says he's hungry and you go up and enjoy the picnic he made you
"sandwiches?" you say with a smirk
"my mom made them" he says smiling
"make me one"
"anytime boo, come over"
"can you believe we're seniors tomorrow?!" you ask him eating your sandwich.
"no it's crazy"
You enjoy the lunch, finish, pack up and head back to the car.
"where are we going now?"
"let's walk the boardwalk"
He grabs a hold of your hand and you begin to walk around. It's about 5 when you head back to the beach.
"come on!!!" Carlos calls out as he runs towards the sand
"I'm coming!" you make it and he picks you up and sets you down on the stone wall, shortly after he's sitting next you
"what?!"
"look, not even the sunset compares to you."
And you can't help but blush at the compliment. You lay your head on his shoulder and watch the sunset
"I'm so lucky to have you, I'll always be here for you even if we don't go to the same college."
"I love you"
"I love you too amor"
-next day-
You check your outfit in the mirror for the 30th time to make sure it looks just right. You're fixing your hair when you get a text
"I'm hereeeeeeeeeeeeee!" you smile at the text and walk out
"is there a day you don't look beautiful or?" Carlos says to you as he places a kiss on your lips and you decide to stay like that for a while before you realize you shouldn't be late for your last first day of high school.
"come on we're going to be late" and you hear him groan
"okay come on"
You get to school and he parks his car and walks out to open the door for you.
"such a gentleman" you say and tippy toe to give him a kiss on the cheek
"let's go" he says placing his forehead on yours "love you"
"love you too" you say as you walk into school for the beginning of the end.
