Our fat stripey gray kitty Teekee (RIP, 2004ish-2020) always used to chase lizards and then hassle them just enough for them to drop their tails…
And then he'd eat the tails only, letting the lizard go pretty much unharmed aside from being a little freaked out. He'd sit there happily munching on the tail and totally ignore the rest of the lizard as it scuttled away to find a place to hide or a way to escape from the house.
So of course, when I saw this picture of a weird sticker someone had put on a gas pump talking about eating lizard tails...
...I thought about that goofy kitty right away. 😅
And here he is demonstrating the method of harvesting lizard tails.
Random scraggly crackhead cat doesn't get the whole "you're only supposed to eat the tail, because it grows back and then you can eat it again" part... so he attempts to eat the rest.
Teekee, of course, is not going to allow that.
