Prayer to Djehuty
Everything is under your pen
Writer and knowledge keeper of the gods, we rely on you to keep our legacy. You are the memory of the two lands; there is no one who acts without your knowledge amongst the gods and men. You can erase the names of the evil-doers, crossing them out of existence, so they shall never enter the Fields of Reeds, so they never become akhu. You can write down the names of men, so we may become forever in the hearts of our divine. Every life that exists is at your mercy, in whose hands are fate and destiny. We give you offerings in order to recieve your praise, for the hopes of our mercy, for you are the heart of maat.
You cause the course of the stars, writing out our destiny. You are the one bringing forth the moon to light our midnight trails. Your song calls to Nuit to rebirth the sun, letting all life live another day. Your hands are the ones of the gods, your voice as well. You are the one who determines the time for all the gods.
Lord, Tehuti, god of writing, god of time, write out another day, write out maat.

Djehuty, god of scribes 📜
One of Djehuty’s most important tasks was protecting mortal scribes. He inspired them to learn and grow in their literacy and was often depicted sitting over them in his baboon form.

Honor, Worship, Work, and Devotion: My Perspective
So I wanted to readdress this topic again because I've been thinking about it a lot recently.
Previously, I defined the four as follows:
Honor: allow into your life, pay respects, don't actively pray to or ask for help in divination/magic workings Worship: same as honoring but with offerings/prayers/altars/the whole song & dance, don't actively include in divination/magic workings Work: same as worship but actively include in divination/magic workings Devotion: the most serious form of deity-mortal interaction, first/foremost, can be to one or several deities
I've also met and interacted with people who are oathbound to a deity (hi Lorelei!) but that doesn't play into my own religious practice, so I haven't included it here.
But even though I've separated them like this, that doesn't mean that it's cut and dry in reality. Various deities I worship or work with will step between the two as they feel necessary - for instance, in my previous answer, I said that I worshiped Aphrodite, but lately it's been more working with because of personal reasons. I believe my current personal breakdown would be:
Honoring: Loki, Sigyn, Angrboda, and their collective kids (who all share one altar, actually) Worship: Aine, Azura, Cernunnos, and Tehuti Work: Aphrodite Devotion: Athena
To me, devotion is a very serious matter, but that doesn't mean I haven't fucked it up. I accidentally devoted to Athena when I was young, and she's been my number one supporter while I fucked around and found out in both magical and mundane matters. That's why I often refer to her as "Mother Athena" or "Momma Athena".
Which is another thing I wanna talk about - I have a very family-oriented view of the world, so I often refer to deities as parents or other older relative figures. Cernunnos is Deer Dad; Tehuti is Uncle Tehuti; Aphrodite, Azura, and Athena are all some variation of Mom... It's my way of showing that I care deeply for them.
So...yeah. I don't have a snappy outro for this post, I just wanted to talk about the deities I care for and how I categorize things.
finalised intro post!!
Hi, i’m Cano. If you’ve been following me around since i started this account you might know of my serious issue of belonging, so i’ve been uncertain about which Gods i work with/worship etc.
For now, i’ve finally settled in a place where I feel comfortable enough to stay in, so here’s some basic info of me;
I’m a pagan polytheist; mostly existing in the Kemetic pantheon, but i’m open to everything and anything.
The Netjer i am beginning my journey of working with is Djehuty, but i also honor Bes mainly. My complete love and respect goes out for every deity of every religion, though.
Yeah, that’s basically it, have a nice day ily :3
