Prompt #4 : (Identification) Papers, Please.
It seemed so easy.
Every employee of Gage Acquisitions filled out their paperwork.
Name, basic physical statistics, some descriptions of skills.
'....it may as well be climbing a godsdamn mountain in my smallclothes.'
Tossing the sheaf onto the table, Teii slumped back against the chair.
'Please. At least my name. Let me write that?"
She picked up her quill, lowering it to the first page.
'T....a T...you can do-GODSDAMNIT!'
The quill tossed aside as she glared at the mess of scribbles she had made.
'....stupid writing...'
Potato, potato!
"It's just six words" for the tater
Good friends don’t always need words.

Prompt #19 (Battle of Wills): Stand Off in the Lobby
“I told you, I’m fine. I received healing.”
There was a tiny foot stomp.
“Look, I’m not going to go running off into danger anytime—“
Arms were crossed. Oh, gods.
“…I brought you more cheesecake?”
There was a growl, and a small hand pointed emphatically toward Dark’s apartment door.
The roegadyn stared down at the lalafell staring back up at her. Teii Tei was blocking the front door of the company office. While, honestly, Dark could simply step past or even over the diminutive woman, there was a lot of good reason not to make the attempt.
After a long moment, Dark finally covered her face and sighed. “Fine. You win.”
Teii let out a happy little cheer and smiled brightly. She also didn’t move from her spot in front of the door until Dark was well and truly inside her room, gear put away again, and a book in hand to spend the rest of the day.
If Erick asked about the simple job she was meant to be on, she had a very good reason for not leaving—and he wasn’t about to take it up with Teii himself, Dark was sure.

Prompt #1 - Spectre
She bolted upright from her nightmare, a silent cry on her lips, casting a panicked look around her darkened room.
Everything was as she left it. Her plants all lined up in a row...neatly hung skeins of yarn waving softly in the breeze from the open window...the gentle thrumming of wings...
“...Oh no....”
Slowly she turned her head, eyes widening at the creature at the foot of her bed.
“....Walking one has -not- kept their promise.”
Teii shook her head, scrambling backwards until her back hit the headboard. Her breath came out in ragged gasps as the faintly shimmering form drifted closer.
“Walking one -promised-.”
Her eyes squeezed shut.
“You’renotrealyou’renotrealyou’renotREAL”
All she could hear was the thrumming of wings...louder and louder and louder and louder AND LOUDER AND LOUD--
When she opened her eyes next, the room was bright. She lifted her head from the pillow....there was the sounds of the rest of Acquisitions moving around outside her door.
Normal, day-to-day operations....
Teii thumped her head back into the pillow, staring at the celing.
“....-what- promise...why can’t I remember you...?”
Prompt #2 (Synthetic): Mistakes Were Made
“You’re going to have to run that by me again,” Dark said, trying very hard to keep her expression neutral and her tone at its usual low, even tone. Good thing she had a lot of practice, given her role in Gage Acquisitions.
The chirurgeon grimaced. “The Flames who answered the alarum from your company’s office found the man like this. He claims it was a lalafell member of your group that…perpetrated this rather violent act.”
“Uh-huh. What’d he do to piss her off?”
“He claims he did nothing untoward, certainly nothing that would warrant such…extreme behavior.”
“She obviously disagreed. I understand you have…samples?”
The elezen made another face and handed over what looked like a tuft of wool, if a little damp. “Don’t worry—that was pulled from his mouth.”
“Right,” Dark said, examining the tuft. She frowned. “I’m no expert, but this doesn’t feel quite right. What creature is this from?”
“Oh, it’s not, apparently,” the chirurgeon said, pushing his spectacles back up his long nose. “It’s some sort of alchemically-created fiber, meant to mimic the look and feel of karkul wool—“
He blinked as Dark barked out a short, sharp laugh. “He tried to get her to work with some sort of fake wool? Are you serious?”
“I don’t see why that’s so funny, the man has been mauled and this…wool…stuffed in various—“
Dark shrugged and handed the wool back. “Sounds like he deserved what he got, frankly. You don’t ask a master craftsman to work an important order with fake materials.”
“The bill for his—“
Dark leaned forward, looking down at the man. She couldn’t loom over elezen quite like she could some other folks, but she was wearing some of her heavier armor today, and had a greatsword strapped to her back, which helped the intimidation factor. She gave him her most charming grin; she hoped her friend Guydelot would be proud.
“Doctor, from my understanding the man became quite disagreeable, even threatening, when our associate would not fulfill his rather unreasonable request—which is perfectly within her right to do. As far as I am concerned, the situation is one of his own making, and as he has the wealth to spare, his bill is not the problem of Gage Acquisitions. Is there anything else you require from me?”
“…No, madam. Thank you for your time.”
Dark nodded. She turned sharply on her heel and marched out of the chirurgeon’s office, making her way through Ul’dah’s busy streets. The sky was overcast and smelled of rain on the way.
She stopped at an Ala Mhigan food cart before turning down the lane that opened up on the terraces and avenues of the Goblet, making her way to Gage Acquisitions’ headquarters before the first drops started pattering onto the cobblestones. Entering, she nodded to the clerk and made her way to the stairs.
There were no noises from the basement workshop, aside from the usual low-key thrumming of the machinery. There was, however, a bit of rummaging in the room under the stairwell.
Dark set down the food she’d picked up, along with some tea, and knocked very briefly on the little door. She left before the room’s occupant could answer, though she was sure she heard a pause of the work happening inside.
Dark’s linkpearl chimed. “Nope, all taken care of. Yeah. No, we’re not paying. Just, word of advice for the future: never, ever give Teii anything synthetic to craft with. Trust me.”

Prompt #4 : Self-Editing
If any had been present at the moment, they might have been very shocked at the screech that echoed through the galley.
Teii Tei rolled out from under the airship, silently mouthing what -may- have been choice curse words, trying to claw her leggings and boots off.
Of -course- a line had to rupture while she was tinkering with the hull. Of -course- there had be ceruleum trying to eat its way through her clothes now.
Finally ripping herself free, Tei threw the offending garments into the farthest corner from her, panting.
‘Calm...calm...it’s fine. You’re fine. Take a deep breath...’
She closed her eyes and counted. By the time she hit thirty, her heart had finally slowed its rapid beating.
‘...alright. You have spare leggings in your bag. Get changed....grab your tools...’
In a moment, she had changed and grabbed her hammer again, turning back to the airship with a determined glance.
‘...and try again.’
