i went off T voluntarily a few months ago and tbh there's a few days of shitty mood where ur body is adjusting (and then a few more shitty days when u go back on bc it freaks out again over the hormone change) but it's not too awful tbh

it depends bc some less experienced piercers do it thru the cartilage instead of the skin above it and that DOES hurt rly bad

just my two cents;; mum recorded me getting mine done and i literally laughed. although it was quite cold, it didnt hurt as much as i thought it would, the only lil painful part is gettin the piercing in!
man idk what my piercer did but she was lovely and v patient with me and for also the only part that hurt was the actual piercing part but after that it was all g and it has barely given me trouble since
i've heard lots of different stories tho i guess it's just different for everyone!
