today is 10 years since iamamiwhoami performed at Way Out West! 🧻

it was their first physical concert following an innovative livestream the year before, and ionnalee has cited her close contact with the audience as the conception of iamamiwhoami’s second album ‘kin’.

anticipation was high with fans at home waiting on the crowd to share updates detailing the unique performance which featured costumes, props and staging based on iamamiwhoami’s visuals for ‘; john’ and ‘clump’ – including a large bed made from rolls of toilet paper.

a new song debuted at the show but remained unreleased until 2020 when ionnalee rewarded our patience by adding a studio recording of it to her KRONOLOGI mixtape with a fitting title ‘telesvar’ which means voicemail.

in 2011, ahead of an appearance at Way Out West Festival, flyers instructed iamamiwhoami fans to call [phone] where we would hear ‘telesvar’ (aka ‘; john b’ or ‘phone song’) as a voicemail message for the first time:
