I think one thing about temperance that i didn't say here is that, temperance gender and sex are both beyond human comprehension, as he only uses he/they/it pronouns because those are the only ones he was refered his whole life, but when it comes to labels? No human label fits him, the only thing he knows is that he did get romantic feelings for hellboy, so in some way he likes men, but... only hellboy... so he doesn't think much about it, but when it comes to the medical and biological side of him... Things get complicated...

Temperance does have some organs that humans have, but when it gets to his torso, it's when things get.. complicated, temperance doesn't have a liver, bladder or kidney, his body finish all to his stomach, like everything he eat goes and finishes there, so because of that, his body doesn't left any thing to just, get out of his body, with it temperance doesn't need to go to the bathroom, and when it comes to his reproduction part, thats when it gets complicated too, as temperance does have an uterus, but his body have the organs to produce eggs, but his "mature ovum" (the same organs that birds have) doesn't have "egg", its, completely empty, so temperance is completely infertile, and with that, temperance also has imbalance in his hormones, so he both has alot of estrogen and testosterone, but both of them are not working properly, as with the infertility they make temperance extremely androgynous, also his uterus has "unicornuate uterus" so only one side of his uterus formed, with all those things, temperance would probably be considered "intersex" for his especies, but because he is the only type of his especies that the B.P.R.D knows, they are not sure and don't put much labels on him as temperance prefers to be "understandable" to humans, he likes it and doesn't mind it at all.

Okay, gonna tell about temp and hellboy entire relationship journey, so it's a veryyy long one, that i am not even sure if it will fit in one post, so here, have it all, also feel free to make questions if something gets confusing.

AT THE B.P.R.D (1956)
Temperance was found by some historians in the old church, now that was only an old, ghost parts of an kingdom that no longer exists, that accidentally they found his body and coffin, because of his unusual appearance and to also be speaking a well, old english and latin, temperance was send to the B.P.R.D, and he was forced to learn the modern english and also be under many studies, especially his biology, but he didn't meet hellboy, because at the time, hellboy was stuck at mexico, so he only meet him at like, only 6 months later, and all those months temp had to deal with so many things, such as being tested, heaving to learn a new language and also, having to deal with a new environment, with people he never saw in his life, like yeah temperance was created in a church community, but he felt worse, he felt he didn't fit there, so he was a very quiet one that only did his job when asked, because he genuinely was scared and alone, and well, getting to the part when temp and hellboy met, and temp didn't like Hellboy very much because he was a demon. I imagine Hellboy wouldn't be that angry, he just wouldn't quite understand why Temp didn't like him. So Temp and he would have a somewhat complicated relationship. Hellboy is easygoing and even happy to see a being who is somewhat different just like him, but temp didn't like hellboy just because he was a demon, but also, because he was the first doubt temp had about what he learned in his past life and about his own religion too, temp always heard about demons, beings he would have to face, but the only demon he sees doesn't attack him, and is instead... cool with him?... I think that would plant the seed of doubt in anyone who basically lived through brainwashing that he had.
Well, with that, temp still had a certain "fear" of hellboy, as he was mostly tolerating hellboy, and because of that, it seemed like temp was giving hellboy some "indirect" hints, but it was only passive aggressive, for it only lasting for like, a week. temp then stopped with the hints, just tolerating hellboy, he was also able to return to the old church where he was found, using that place to pray and be alone, usually talking to "the angels", and little by little, temp was actually able to talk to the angels, with the angels telling temp that he should continue to fear the demon, because he is responsible for the end of humanity. but temp still had doubts in his mind; he just kept quiet about the angels, thinking about himself, and well, and as he also slowly learned language he had to also learn history too, but before it was a feeling of obligation, but temp gradually begins to really enjoy learning, igniting a mini passion for learning itself, and well, in those history books, temp also learns about the lame things the church did over time, really making him question his faith and his upbringing, even stopping going to church for a while, thus deciding to stop tolerating Hellboy, and instead, trying to be more chill with him...
Something that left hellboy somewhat surprised but also happy (but kinda in doubt too) and he even asks temp why he's treating him so well, and temp admits that he was afraid of hellboy for being the first to make him question his own faith and upbringing. He also apologizes for how he treated hellboy, saying he genuinely shouldn't have done that, hellboy says it's okay, since temp really seems to be genuinely changing.
Even with temp apologizing, he still feels a little guilty about how he treated hellboy, becoming somewhat paranoid every time they talk, since temp thinks hellboy still doesn't like him very much, temp even gives hellboy some space, only talking to him when he comes to talk to temp, until things go wrong and hellboy even finds temp crying in the church, telling the angels that he genuinely feels bad and that he WANTS to be friends with Hellboy but doesn't know how without feeling this way, a terrible guilt, so the angels become quieter, nothing, just nothing... it was left to temp to learn this, so hellboy kind of interferes and temp is even startled, apologizing, and the two end up having a genuine conversation, with hellboy saying that he thought temp still hated him, which is why he didn't talk to temp either, and temp thinking that hellboy hated him too, so hellboy says that he really forgave temp, and that he didn't need to be so paranoid, but that he doesn't judge temp's head too much, the two had communication problems, and well, the two resolve this, with a genuine friendship slowly forming, very slowly, but forming...
ACTUAL.. FRIENDSHIP?...
With their friendship forming, temp slowly some years later becomes an agent at the B.P.R.D only, and the B.P.R.D makes temp and hellboy work for only separate missions, until one mission ends up with them having to work together, observing each other's working methods, and hellboy pointed out that it was strange for temp to be a knight that doesn't not have a shield, a valid point he made. Indeed, temp doesn't have a shield; he always went without one. Could it be that he acquired one with his powers? Well, that mission together was a bit chaotic, but it worked out, with hellboy, of course, always going after the monsters, and temp helping, but temp was mostly helping to keep things under control using the amulets too. And well, there was a moment when temp almost hurt Hellboy, but otherwise it went well. And well, this even helped their friendship, with them even talking about the amulets and chatting too.
And well, their friendship continues, until temp genuinely starts to enjoy being friends with hellboy, but he does end up having a crisis in his own room, accidentally discovering his powers, and hellboy being the first to help temp calm down, with temp discovering more about his powers, which are extreme, he decides to dedicate himself to discovering his powers, thus doing more missions alone, and well, with that he also ends up discovering the thing that if he loses too much blood he starts to hallucinate, and that hallucinations involve on him think that his stomach is open, and his organs are falling out on the floor. (which he ended up having a mini trauma from, but without even noticing that it became a trauma).
With temp discovering this, he ends up telling hellboy too, who finds it quite strange, but since it only happened once at the time, neither of them took it too seriously, but still finding it weird, then it happens a second time, and this time hellboy and temp are together, with hellboy having to calm temp down a bit, and it end up working, with temp calming down, and that experience made temp be more comfortable with hellboy, and it's the first time temp feels something "different" for hellboy, but he decides to keep those feelings quiet since he doesn't even know what they are. And later on temp also discovers his two shields!! Yayyy!! He was on a solo mission, he manages to make the small shield and then the giant hand shield, which he used to protect himself! He was very happy to find that out,telling hellboy about it, which of course, said he was proud of temp.
With that, hellboy also starts to feel something "more than friendship" for temp, but he prefers not to be direct, since he doesn't want to destroy his friendship with temp, thus beginning the flirtation in their friendship! More on hellboy's part, temp didn't even realize it was flirting, only much later did he realize it was flirting, hellboy and temp start to fall for each other, but temp doesn't reciprocate hellboy's flirtations, not out of malice, but because he had some plans, and well, that's when temp's first change comes in! The change in clothes and armor! He also learns to manipulate clothes and his armor with his powers, which allows him to have a sort of magical girl transformation, and with that, he also ends up buying a heart pendant, with some time before, temp had bought a camera, and he carried it with him at certain times after missions, and he ends up taking a picture of hellboy, and when the pendant arrives, temp puts the picture of hellboy inside, showing off his new appearance and the pendant to hellboy, the pendant is another "surprise," and the two end up having a serious conversation, hellboy, of course, finds the gift very sweet, but they end up talking about their feelings, mostly temp's, miraculously, and so, they both admit they feel something for each other and start dating!! Yay!!
THE RELATIONSHIP
The beginning of their relationship was great. Sure, it had its ups and downs, but I'd say they both grew with each other and dealt well with each other, hellboy isn't the type to give up on a relationship, and temp was genuinely having a good time, a good relationship with hellboy, and this was also the time when temp went alone to the church before a long time, and discovered by the angels his true purpose for existing: to kill Hellboy. He completely got angry at the angels and fought with them and survived, and was slightly traumatized by it, deciding that he wanted to have no connections with the heavens anymore, and telling hellboy what happened and what he discovered later, and hellboy is a little upset that their "planned future" is linked, but happy that temp trusts him, since temp was really FURIOUS with the angels, beings who "helped" him so much, and temp also stopped going to that church after those events, and his religious side diminished a bit, ofc he's still religious, but not as religiously blind as before, and well, they... Later on liz comes to the org, with him being good friends with liz, and abe coming later on, also being on a good friendship with them, and in 1979, temp and hellboy get married, and temp changes his appearance on 2010 for the last time.

My ass forgot to tell temperance lore when he got to the B.P.R.D, but basically he was found by some historians and he was sent to the B.P.R.D, but at the time he was send, hellboy was stuck on mexico, so he met hellboy like, way later on because of that, i found interesting their ""friendship"" that is like, really different on how temp treated hellboy, and i really wanna talk about it if yall are interested.
