I got a little distracted by Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a couple days, but I managed to catch up on my rows last night just in time for the end of the month lol

March Temperature Blanket Update!
I got a little distracted by Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a couple days, but I managed to catch up on my rows last night just in time for the end of the month lol
I've been surprisingly good about keeping up with my temperature blanket so far but that probably won't last long 🤣
I decided to do a row of white between each of the months... That might not have been a smart choice considering some of the lighter colours almost look the same when they're next to each other 😅 Oh well, too late now!
Yarn: Paintbox Simply Chunky, Stylecraft Special Chunky & Special DK Stitch: Moss/Linen/Granite
Finally started (and got caught up on) this year's temperature blanket! I call the colour palette "Tea & Roses" ☕🌹
I decided to make it about 110" wide this time (last year's was just a lapghan) so that it would be big enough to cover our king-sized bed... but I am quickly realising that I SEVERELY underestimated the amount of yarn I needed for a project that size! So I guess I'll be making another large order from LoveCrafts sooner than expected 😅

My cats are going to LOVE the scarf I just finished 😂
Temperature blanket progress: January to end of April 2020. Two colours for each day (high and low temp range) and weather (sun, rain, snow, cloud) down the side. #crochet #yearproject #temperatureblanket2020 https://www.instagram.com/p/CATCx19n1M2/?igshid=8gk0ren03em0
Year long project!
So lately I’ve been working on a new year long project. I started it on Jan 1 2020. So basically everyday of 2020 I am crocheting a row of the blanket based on the average temperature of the day. I have a color dedicated to each temperature group starting with 40′s - 90′s. I planned out my colors based on the average coldest and hottest temps in my area.
The blanket is going to end up with 366 rows (since this is a leap year) and I wanted to make sure it wasn’t massively longer then wide so I calculated via a swatch test how long 366 rows will be with different stitches using worsted size 4 yarn and made the starting chain 350 chains coming out to about 8ft long. This will be the length of the blanket. after this is done it with be about 7.5 ft by 8ft. Ive decided to use single crochet with a simple moss stitch (sc, ch 1, skp 1, sc. repeating this in the next rows with the sc in the ch1 space.)
So far this is turning out amazingly and I kinda wanna do something like this again with other projects. I think the idea of not knowing how the colors will turn out till I get to it is kinda fun and tracking the temp changes over the days and how often is shifts. It’s so fun.
Im new to the blogging world and will seen be taking photos and updating you on my year long project photos very soon.
My #temperatureblanket2020 progress so far. This is the #tunisiancrochet #simplestitch. I’m using #addiclickhook size K. #caronyarn and #redheartyarns. Most of these temps have been in the 40’s, it’s been pretty warm so far. https://www.instagram.com/p/B7zQgBxAjzr/?igshid=3v80aee3wglk
New year, new temperature blanket. New technique! Thanks to @tlyarncrafts for the best intro videos to #tunisiancrochet and thanks to @knaturlknitwear for “hooking” me up with my #addiclickhooks!!! I’m using the same colors and temp ranges as last year (see my feed), but I’m mixing things up with a technique I’ve been wanting to try for a while. This is #temperatureblanket2020 in #tunisiancrochet #simplestitch using an #addiclick crochet hook K. So far I’ve completed through January 4, using #caronsimplysoft in country blue and dark country blue. I’ve got a some Red Heart yarn for some colors eventually too. . . #crochetersofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B69kmFdg9_s/?igshid=1o438delqi2k7
