Swagger Blagger - TOPSHOP & Benefit private view at 29 Glasgow
Last night, the newly refurbished 29 members club, in Glasgow, played host to a private view of TOPSHOP Christmas season party wear, and a Benefit make-up 101, one to one.
Being the blaggers we are, there was no way we were going to pay the £15 a head entrance fee, "we work for TOPSHOP" was our opening to the receptionist, not being on her list, we were sent up stairs where we were greeted with a glass of fizz and a clip board, "are you here with Laura or..." we were asked by the assistant. "yes yes we we're here with Laura, is it ok if we sit over there" we replied confidently, "of course it is, enjoy the show" YAAAALLDI! TOPSHOP? TOPBLAG!
Anyway, the evening was an introduction to some new key pieces for this season at TOPSHOP and an introduction into their personal shopping experience. As the very lovely stylists talked about their new pieces, I couldnt help but find ten30 to be bang on trend again. Trends like fur, collars, leather detailing and chanel inspiration seemed to be key.
After the clothes, we were shown a "how to" on "perfect smokin' eyes" by the fantastic Benefit girls. A whirlwind make-up artist demonstrated different products on some live models and answered questions about products and looks. The intimate crowd hung on her every word and convinced us to buy the Bad Gal Lash mascara (which is actually awesome btw)
The night on the whole was great, 29 is a stunning venue, although I personally didn't think it suited the intimate nature of the event. A very interesting concept, talking people through the garments and how to style them, worked really well. I look forward to the next one.
