Please Consider Prepaying!

We only have 65 days left until Sparklestuck 2016 is supposed to happen.  As of right now we only have $140 of $2500 that we need to have the event happen. Please! If you want Sparklestuck to be a thing consider prepaying and spreading the masterpost so that others can know about our event!

Okay I gotta say something about this.

I don’t know how many people are going to see this but I feel like someone at least needs to say something about this issue.

I’ve overheard a lot of people, mainly convention staff, talking about outlawing Troll and/or Homestuck cosplay at a few conventions in the TN area due to the behavior of several groups of younger cosplayers (13 through 16 seems to be the general age group) running around screaming, swearing around kids, honking bike horns in people’s ears, trashing the hotel and convention floor, getting their body paint everywhere and just generally being awful.

Please, for everyone’s sake, especially your own,

I get it, Homestuck has a reputation as a trash fandom. I was hyper and rambunctious when I started too, until Pellicon a small con, got canned in large part due to the awful behavior of a group of homestucks who were swearing a lot around kids, spiking Faygo bottles off the ground and getting their unsealed paint on furniture.

It’s up to you guys to prove the people saying you’re a garbage fandom wrong.

Please don’t leave messes behind after you eat; clean as much as you can off the ground or table. Pizza boxes, bottles and cans, wrappers, leftovers, bigger stuff. Don’t just leave the mess for someone else to clean up.

Please seal as much of your paint as you can. Even a bottle of baby powder will do in a pinch. Grey body paint is awful to scrub out of furniture.

You don’t have to scream across the con floor. Please take take it outside. A lot of people that go to cons have anxiety issues.

Same goes for honking. A friend of mine nearly had a panic attack after a random Gamzee cosplayer snuck up on her and honked a bike horn in her ear. Honk it outside and not in people’s ears.

Do not shout swear words in the vicinity of small children.

I’m not trying to be an asshole to you guys. I love homestuck. I may be on break from it right now but I still love it.

And I don’t want you guys to get banned from cosplaying the thing you love. Please, by all means have fun, but don’t make it horrible for other people.

Open GMX room

My friends and I are looking for a few more people to fill our hotel room for GMX, which is too expensive for the three of us right now. We're aiming for 5 of 6 at least, which would put the cost at 60$ and 50$ respectively, and our 100% cut-off is 8. We have two beds, and two people that need a bedspace right now, so there's two more open. I also have an air mattress if anyone needs/wants it. 

There might be drinking in the room, but we keep drunk shenanigans out of it.

Sprite's big Lame Akai Homestuck photoshoot post,

Okay! So i'm in the tag a lot to post about my panel and occasionally my room, but now is time to put out the definite info on the Homestuck photoshoot.

The short of it, it will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, and run at absolute latest until 4 pm. It will be out in the grass. To get there, just go out the doors at the back of the lobby, near the piano, and go to the right. You should see at least a small group consisting of Roxy, Karkat, and a few others.

Underneath the cut is my rambling of rules and notes!

So a little list of rules to start out,

I will not tolerate horn honking. In my experience you guys are much better than Indianastucks with this, but I will still say it. I cannot stand them. Loud sudden or startling noises are very triggering/upsetting to me and a few others I know who will be attending, and they frankly just annoy me. I already have to talk over people, I don't need horns too. I will confiscate them if I hear them. You'll get them back, but not until the photoshoot is done.

Please keep the noise down. Myself and Clyde are only so loud, and people need to hear us.

I'll probably be standing around and noting down rarepairs or crack ships y'all want on my phone, and I'll call them closer to the end. I get to 98% of popular ships, and any -cest ships are done when blood colors/ kid groups are done.

DO NOT COME UP TO ME DURING TO SHOOT WITH SHIPS. PLEASE. I had this happen at Midwest and it gave me an anxiety attack bad enough I had to leave the shoot early. Please and thank you. If you have to pee and want me to hold off on something until you get back, cool, alright, or if you're getting tired or have to leave and want me to get through your ships so you can, absolutely let me know! But not ships, please. There are too many and I might start crying.

LISTEN. TO. ME. Too many times in Indianastuck people just don't listen when I speak. I don't want to repeat myself. I am not your mother, it isn't my job to teach you respect. But I will use my mom voice and lecture you.

I'm going to say all of this at the beginning of the shoot as well. Be prepared, I can rant a little.

If you get hurt, or feel sick, or need food, or water, or whatever during the photoshoot, or before/after, PLEASE COME TO ME. I will help you, I mother 22 year old men, I will mother you too. I will have food and water and first aid on hand, and most available con staff a phone call away if you need real medical attention or help.

I'll be in the photoshoot area around 1:30/2 if you wanna get there early and hang out, I love meeting new people. I'd love to hang out after, but I have to check in for my panel at or around 4, since it starts at 6. I'll probably return.

I'm going to stop here before I go on too long, I hope to see a lot of people there!

Homestucks Attending Akaicon 2014

Dave - (This is still up in the air. We have an individual willing to be backup Dave if need be but we don't have a person who absolutely wants to do Dave yet)
