see mermaids dont exist in like the “nice merpeople” sense but since half my family spent most of their life at sea, maybe im like half sea demon. im actually a very talented natural swimmer even in my family lmfao and my skin condition makes it that my skin dries out HELLA quick after swimming so once i leave the water i gotta keep moisturized immediately so. to answer your question. possibly.

but no its actually like a casual thing people do in my country. the sea just fucks off for a couple hours during ebb so we just casually stroll from island to island and like. eat seaweed. ok maybe most people dont eat seaweed, but the first time i did the hike the guy who led us was like “hey u can eat this anyone wanna try?” fully thinking none of our 14yo asses would and i just stuffed it in my mouth so YES. I ATE RAW SEAWEED AND IT WASNT THE LAST TIME

and like i said, we DID drain 1400 square miles of ocean to create another part of the country once. like, there was a flood, and we were like “yo fuck off” so we drained the ocean. partially. people live on that land now, its a province, which is essentially a state
