Leonardo accidentally stumbled into Run of the Mill Pizza while playing with Cassandra and the kid just froze. For the first time in all of his memory, he's actually seen so many yokai/mutants.
Hueso knelt down and decided to talk to this very clearly confused child, asking if he was lost and where his guardian was. To which Leo responded with a barely coherent rush of sentences because his whole world changed.
Meanwhile, for the past 10 minutes, Cassandra tore through an entire alleyway until she herself falls through the wall.
Initially, there had been some panic because, well, a random human showed up— but Hueso's worry was settled when she kicked his shin and stood protectively over Leo.
There's a lot of Hueso and Leo stuff I wanna explore eventually through some doodles, but I hope this gave ya something! ^^

The second one is correct! Prior to Tentative Devotee - Enemies, Leo (age 14) and Casey (age 16) got a little reckless during one of Casey's, as she put it, "side quests"—
And by the time they stopped panicking and made it home safely— they decided to just keep it because... uh... oops.

Yep! Leo in Tentative Devotee is transmasc! (maybe not fully a binary man, but uses the term man still)
1. There will actually be a very brief section in a main comic part for a later story! We're not close to the part where I want to bring it up yet, but for now, a very abridged version of how it went:
Leonardo came out to Donnie first in mid 2012, over a year before he went missing. By the twins' birthday, he was out to everyone.
And yes, Leo's deadname is 'Venus' in this AU! The 'Leo was once Venus' headcanon lives rent free in my brain.
(Also, thank you sm!!! I really love making art for this AU and it's generally hecking fun!! I'm glad you like my stuff!)
Tentative Devotee AU Masterpost
Ok so the charm half that broke was Donnie's half, correct? And he repairs it and gives it to Trainee in the future. Does he know trainee is Leo at this point? Does Leo recognize the charm? What happened to Leo's original half of the charm? Did it just get lost when Leo also got lost?
The fact that Leo loves charms is precious to me. Sorry for so many charm questions.
Don't worry about the charm questions, I love answering and clarifying them! TD!Leo and charms is a big thing for me :)
1. Actually, it was Leo's charm that got broken! Leo's charm has blue on the top, while Donnie's has purple on the top (for those who have trouble with seeing the color, Leo's has the one where it's brighter on top) When Leo went missing, it was one of the only things his brothers and Splinter could find
2. At that point in the story, Donnie already does know that Trainee's Leo!
3. Donnie kept both his an Leo's charms away in a box. Donnie can't bring himself to fix it even if he wanted to, as it's a reminder of his self-percieved "failure" to fulfill their promise of being at eachother's sides through everything.
I will reveal more whenever we get to the part of TD where this scene takes place. I hope this helps!
