Tequiza

Neither the name "Tequiza" nor the following recipe are my doing, but it would be irresponsible not to share. The last time I was at Empty Bottle I noticed their monthly cocktail was tequila, squirt, and lime. It sounded so gross, but it also had the trashy allure that anything involving off-brand soda does. So, in advance of a party I attempted to recreate a cocktail I'd never tasted. And then I named what I produced "Tequiza" which is, I think, margarita beer, but I haven't had that either. 

Tequiza:

juice of 1/2 lime

2 oz silver tequila

2 oz Squirt

mix, serve over ice

It pretty much tastes like a margarita, but if you've ever attempted to make one of those, they're deceptively labor intensive. Last summer I made a large batch margarita mix so I could cut down on the wait time between desiring a drink and consuming a drink, but this is even faster (and much cheaper). It's obviously inauthentic, but sometimes you just want to acknowledge that midway point between college and adulthood that you've been whiling away your hours at.
