okay, the new update was great so here’s my wild theory: peekaboo is the spirit of a monster
they appear to be themed after toys and old classical style monsters, as reflected by them being dressed as a “normal” ghost, or a child in a ghost costume.
the cousinhood of man, alongside the actions of davy and cody, have established monsters as legitimate threats which can hide in plain sight, hence peekboo’s costumed appearance.
there’s also the inclusion of the vampire doll and skeleton puppet on the ground which are likely references to the vampiric jones family and puppeteer hijack being out of commission. peekaboo is generally surrounded by references to monsters
also! this has been theorised plenty before dimitri has orange spectral energy and so does hijack. there’s a definite link there, especially since hijack was just taken out by seemingly one of the cousinhood’s targets
this is worded kinda badly but i hope at least some of it made a little sense. peekaboo’s inclusion at this point in the chapter, especially after these reveals, is interesting to say the least. i can wait to find out more about peekaboo and dimitri’s dynamic!!!
