The notion that every choice a woman makes is feminist because feminism is about choice is so fucking tiring. Feminism is really nothing but a feelgoodfest about how good of an activist you can be to these people. If it was just about choice we’d be done. In the west, women have all the same choices men have. if that’s all feminism is to you then there’s no point in examining how society affects these choices, how some of these choices are only a choice in theory. You can keep celebrating how you can choose between wearing or not wearing makeup without ever stopping to consider how much backlash women get when they don’t. Without ever tackling the issue of women’s bare faces being seen as unkempt and unprofessional.  You didn’t give a shit about choice in the first place if you believe every choice a woman makes needs to be justified as being political activism. Women are allowed to exist and live their lives without being revolutionary in any of it. Calling existing as a woman feminist not only undermines actual feminism, it, ironically enough, takes away women’s choice in their politics. Women can be bad feminists, anti feminists, or want absolutely nothing to do with feminism. You can think that’s unethical and that’s completely okay, because womanhood isn’t something you need to earn through being a good person.
