You're right in the middle of prepping for the new GP - building the location, completely absorbed in a room for one of the characters (Maddox) … and then you zoom out and the landscape is just > gone. Like, the terrain ground - the grass the house is sitting on - doesn't exist. Great.
Right when I'm finally in the flow - poof.
Really does wonders for motivation … So what do you do? EA DIY hour(s) again. I saved the house to the Gallery, deleted it from the lot, reloaded the save … same issue.
Load a different save - same problem.
Create a new save - not exactly the same, but still an issue - wtf.
New CC as the cause? Nope, nothing suspicious. And it's interesting, too: When creating a brand-new save via CAS and a new Sim, suddenly there's a different CAS background.
Hmmm … this is all so crazy. I can't imagine I accidentally included something - I copy new files in manually - file by file and this time I only had a handful of new stuff. I moved all saves (only saves, no mods) out, restarted the laptop, created a new save, and now it looks clean again!!!
Could it be something getting tangled up because of yesterday's Windows update? I don't trust it yet. I don't want to put my saves back until I'm sure … Unfortunately, Valentine and his shared flat will have to wait.
I feel like crying…

And just as a side note: yes, I changed the setting and relocated the uni flatshare to the university grounds in Britechester. It's a nicer vibe and less of a hassle for the tasks I'm planning due to uni life. The house in Windenburg is still Maddox's, though and we'll return there later.

Ok, here's an update:
I ran a repair and played in a test save for a while … then I gathered all my courage and moved a copy from my build save back in - yes, I always have backups, but what do you do with them if sth is broken internally? - and what can I say … it's working. Maybe it really was just some things getting tangled up the wrong way. I really hope so …
