Incident Details
During the attack, Murgatroyd dragged the victim down the street and was seen beating her. She ran towards the living room, but he followed her before hitting her on the head and pulling her hair. Officers tracked Murgatroyd, 38, to his address in Waverley Garth, Beeston, and arrested him in a violent scuffle which used pepper spray and a taser. Police spoke to the victim, who was still frightened and unable to provide enough evidence to charge him. The "dog cam" footage was enough to show what Murgatroyd had done. Investigators from the Leeds District Safeguard Unit were confident this could form the basis of a victimless prosecution and Murgatroyd was charged with assault and private possession of a zombie knife under the Death Act 1988. criminal justice.
Plead Guilty
Murgatroyd pleaded guilty to both counts when he appeared in court on November 7.
