Sorry I was being rude there when I said I was confused 🙏 the text often cuts out in the middle of a sentence and the idioms (?) are very confusing. Loved the art! And I’m always happy to see ppl interact with my posts! Chronic anxiety Jamil real
Haha, don't apologize! It's okay not to understand the words and consider it rude. Actually, that's exactly what I was trying to say, and now I'm going to try again, but with screenshots - maybe it will help! If it's not too clear in this case, you can ask me again! I'll try to, uh, explain it another way.
I mentioned that many characters, despite the fact that Kalim can be difficult and sometimes even rude in his words, seem to take him lightly. But I don't think it's because they don't fully understand the problems that come with Kalim. They seem to act more like they're interacting with a small child. Young children are also distracted a lot and don't really understand boundaries, and judging by the rather, um, calm (by my standards) attitude towards Ortho in this college, the dudes seem to understand child care perfectly.
Kalim can be very difficult in some situations, but it is very rarely taken personally. This is an interesting mature position from a bunch of teenagers, and this is also due to Kalim, who approaches everything with energy and joy. Ruggie and Jamil have a different opinion, not because others have not suffered defeats or problems from Kalim's actions, but because they feel responsible for him. Jamil has an imposed responsibility that he cannot separate from his own, as a result, he is doubly fucked in the brain by everything that happens. Ruggie understands perfectly well that he uses someone else's good nature and generosity, it's just that his moral compass allows him to ride on other people's backs, but he doesn't want to get problems from the fact that someone understood what he was doing.
I always admit that my interpretation may be wrong, mainly because, given that I've been learning English all my life, I still can't make sentences in that language. I can understand words, but in all meanings at the same time, which constantly baffles me. Articles, auxiliaries, and modal verbs are constantly confusing me. Therefore, my perception can be distorted when I talk about something, ehh. I just don't have enough concentration on this language and its terrible rules of putting words in a strictly regular order. By the way, Kalim (unconsciously, in order to see the good) and Jade (completely consciously and for fun) periodically perform approximately the same linguistic gymnastics. I do this mainly because in my head words are not letters, but rhythmic patterns and a set of contexts that are perceived in random order. I'm probably just amazing at imitating a normal person.
Deuce and Ace have shown in different situations that they are quite ready to boil over any crooked word. (especially from people who are at least visually similar to their size, they certainly treat the older ones a little differently, but mostly because they don't want to get pussy in return, and Ace is completely fucked up after Riddle's overblot). At the same time, Kalim has a completely different attitude in this regard.
In the lantern event, this attitude is quite easy to trace - he is clearly not treated as an equal, and this, in fact, helps to perceive Kalim quite well, despite Riddle's muttering with Jack (I'm not sure that in this fd at least someone did not speak loudly about Kalim next to Kalim and Kalim 'didn't hear anything').
Among other things, Kalim often performs for narrative purposes. (From the point of view of the narrative, it would be very stupid if what the player does not know was not explained, or if Kalim was simply told "are you stupid" and the dialogue ends there.) Having a visual novel, authors must often exhaust themselves through descriptions of the environment, through dialogues about the 'obvious' and what everyone knows. Introducing a character who has problems with concentration and at the same time naive and childish admiration for everything around him is the solution to this problem. Kalim is often used precisely as a function, but there is also a point in this function — everyone at this college explains things to Kalim very calmly.
There should have been examples of communication between Kalim and Vil, but I got distracted and forgot to take a screenshot. Vil just actually used to say, 'you're completely stupid and uneducated,' and then spend 10 dialog boxes to explain something and make sure you understood everything. Kalim was most often the victim of this, even if the rest of the team didn't understand something either, simply because Kalim obviously wasn't afraid of him. Among other things, very sensitive to insults to his dignity, Vil never really took offense at Kalim's communication, only clarified what Kalim meant, and then explained why it might be offensive.
I don't talk much about Ruggie and Jamil here, mainly because everything seems more or less clear with them. Ruggie is very clear about his position towards rich people and just people. Moreover, we should still understand that Kalim is not just getting to these two. I just have a problem with the fact that Kalim is supposed to be Silver's classmate, but I see a lottle things about this interaction? Well, that's okay. But we have a royal understanding.
No matter how angry Leona gets at everyone and snaps at them like a street cat, he sometimes gets soft. I have a lot of thoughts about it, but they're all about feelings and colors, so I won't be able to convey them properly. They just look like a family and I really love brotp.
I think, among other things, the rest of the characters aren't particularly mad at Kalim because he really knows how to sincerely apologize. He knows how to admit mistakes, he can be bullied, he can be persuaded (not always, rest the soul of Jamil and Ruggie), and often other characters won't even try to accuse him of deliberately pushing for pity. Kalim apologizes and really tries to think about it next time, but he just manages to find so many different ways to do it that it's not even clear where to start. He doesn't seem to have done what he apologized for, but the result is deplorable again.
and plus other screenshots that didn't fit...
I hope this explained what I was trying to say earlier! communication and all business. Sorry if it's again a mess...
