It was late and I was heading home after attending a music industry event. As I walked toward the subway on the deserted Manhattan street. Some men clothes in a store window caught my eyes and I stopped to look. It had to be around 1am or a little later but I didn't feel scared on the streets by myself. New York City was home. As I gazed at the clothes in the display window, a reflection of some one passing behind me distracted me for a few seconds but I immediately recognized the jacket in the reflection of this kid that I knew from all of the industry parties because he always wore the same jacket. As he passed by me, I looked over my right shoulder and said "what's up Chris". He looked over his left shoulder and said "what's up man", without ever breaking stride. What I remember from that night was him walking down the street, with his head down, like he had a lot on his mind. I watched him for a few minutes and I almost called out to him to see what was going on with him. But I didn't. I went back to window shopping before heading to the train to go back home to Brooklyn and this young kid disappeared into the night. His name is Chris Rock

My Storybook.... He was a young actor making his debut in a major motion picture and I was a young publicist who just got started in the music industry. I was sitting in the audience at this young actor's movie premiere. We were in Manhattan and the audience was filled with celebrities, movie stars, music industry people and media types. I was in my seat with my date and this young actor was about 10 feet away from me, leaning up against the wall talking to a few people. My date wanted to meet him, but I didn't know him personally. But I called him over anyway. And to my surprise, he actually walked over. He leaned down by my seat and talked to us for a few minutes about his lead role in this new movie. He was very humbled and thanked us for supporting his work. He shook our hands and walked away. A few minutes later, the lights grew dimmed in the theater and the movie started. The movie was Krush Groove. His name is Blair Underwood

Music Executive Craig Kallman his career in the music business for over 20 years. I had the opportunity to meet Craig years ago when he was founder of the indie dance label, Big Beat Records.  We also worked together at Billboard magazine when Craig headed up Billboard dance singles chart. Since then Craig has risen through the music industry ranks. Kallman history has garner the works of Cee LO, Monica, Brandy, Lupe Fiasco and many others  He has also held positions at CBS and Columbia records.
