Tesla 3 Convertible
Tesla does not have convertibles in its range, and surely does not consider having them. But it is already possible to find a convertible Model 3 thanks to the work of Newport Convertible Engineering, a firm specialized in transforming any vehicle to this type of body. According to Newport, the transformation process took three months. First of all, the original roof of the Tesla Model 3 was removed to provide it with a retractable canvas that, through an electrical or manual system, can cover the cabin at any time. This is stored in a compartment designed for this purpose inside the trunk. One particularity is that the "B" pillar remained intact so as not to affect the rigidity and performance of the car, added to the fact that some cameras and sensors used by the Autopilot system are installed in this part. Likewise, the preparer included in this car some structural reinforcements in the chassis. There are no changes at the mechanical level, as is hardly predictable, and that aspect will not have much to do with the transformations that Newport makes on this type of car.
