Who was Tesla?
With the advent of civilisation, many scientists have done innumerable contributions to science which have made human life easy and the world a wonderful place to live in. Albert Einstein, Thomas Alva Edison, Issac Newton and many more. But very few know about Nikola Tesla. A scientist who was beyond time and was deeply engrossed to understand the mystery of Nature and Science. Born on 10th July 1856 in Smijan Croatia Nikola Tesla devoted his whole life to Scientific inventions & welfare of mankind.

Every year our high school 9th grade physical science teacher holds "Tesla Day". This includes live pigeons (or chickens if a pigeon isn't available), treats, videos, and usually some kind of presentation. We also hold a candlelight vigil for Topsy the elephant. Today we paraded through the packed lunchroom, our teacher in the front with her candle, the girl behind her in an elephant hat and gently holding a chicken, the rest of us with our lighted birthday candles. It was not all of this that I found strange, no, what was strange was when the principal didn't notice our teacher and started berating the poor girls at the back that they couldn't have open flames.
Me: Are you guys ready??
Maully and Lo: For what?
Me: ARE YOU GUYS READY?!
Maully and Lo: Yeah, sure, I guess... what's going on?
Me *turning lights on and off really fast*: HAPPY TESLA DAY!!!
Lo: Oh my God. I thought it was going to be cool.
Me: HOW 'BOUT THAT ALTERNATING CURRENT?!
Maully: You've been waiting all day to do that, haven't you?

I love Nikola Tesla, I think he is one of the coolest people to ever live. I really like seeing alternate versions of him too, if his vision had become a reality. SO HERE'S A PIC FOR TESLA DAY!

How awesome is this you guys!!! I have been super excited about this museum back when The Oatmeal first started collecting donations for it back in 2012, and the fact that it has come so far makes me all weepy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIKOLA TESLA!!
