“Oh my god, no. No. Absolutely not.” Maddy began almost immediately, narrow-eyed the moment she walked into her sister’s dressing room. The room was generous with space, and although it was nothing compared to her sister’s ballet dressing room--she thought they’ll have to make do. Her lips curled in contempt as her eyes raked over her sister’s figure, wearing one of the five dresses they had indecisively chosen for the violin recital. “I love you, Tess, but that dress is just for... you know, one of those little fancy cocktail parties with the President. A perfectly good dress to have sex in, I’m sure. But... come on.”
Maddy massaged her temples before trotting over towards the four other dresses laid hanging on the rack next to a white chaise lounge. They were still about a few hours away from Tessa’s violin recital in the evening, though she was slowly feeling the pressure pouring in. It’s funny how she felt more on edge than Tessa was today. This was just one of those every now and then recitals, after all. But with the heat of the past two weeks with her parents and the smallest of intels from her publicist that a certain Hale may appear today, well, the whole notion of everything hasn’t been the easiest.
“I’m sorry.” Maddy apologized, turning to glance at her sister briefly. “It’s been a stressful couple of weeks and someone is coming over to your recital out of bloody nowhere, and I’m just on edge.” Her shoulders slouched considerably. It wasn’t fair to Tessa that she had to be this tightened up. “Here, take this.” She took one of the white gowns with the intricate patterns and the slight slit that could reveal a bit of her sister’s left leg. “Let’s see if it looks better on you this time. The lighting at the dressing room you wore that in was dreadful.”
