Akhirnya aku kembali kesini, Test English School Pare.
dulu pernah sempat kesini sama ebi tepatnya sekitar 3 tahun yang lalu, niat nya belajar TOEFL. tapi apa daya hanya untuk ‘Belajar’. belajar bentar lalu terlupakan. cuma target ‘scoring’ TOEFL, pemanis syarat melamar pekerjaan di BUMN.
aku masih inget betul orang-orang disini seperti apa semangat belajarnya. aku yang cuma pingin coba aja bisa terbawa semangat. gimana enggak coba, mereka sama-sama bekerja keras dipembelajaran, jadi bukan cuma belajar ya. mereka sama-sama mengorbankan waktu dan uang dengan harapan bisa hidup yang lebih baik. bisa mengejar apa yang sudah dicita-citakan. GO ABOARD.
let see. untuk kuliah atau bekerja ke luar negeri setidaknya butuh score IELTS 6.5 (umumnya pakai versi british itu). dan demi mencapai itu mereka rela STAY selama 7 (tujuh) bulan disini untuk belajar, gila aja kan? gak ada pemasukan setelah lulus, menghilang dari radar sosial mereka. DEMI loh ya.
kalau ditanya kenapa disini?
jawabnya sederhana, karena paling intense. Padat gilak-lah!
bayangin aja kegiatan mulai dari jam 5.30 - 21.30 WIB. belum lagi pasti ada tugas, jadi pintar-pintar cari celah. buat Mandi, nyuci, garap tugas, makan dan jajan. itu pun bangun tidur harus sudah setor hafalan cuy, materi memorizing. jadi terserah kamu mau bangun jam berapa untuk bisa hafalan. temen sekamar ku aja bangun jam 4.00 pagi!. tidur? jam 24.00 itu kalo g ada tugas writing. kalo entah bisa jam berapa.
Ini semua tentang kerja keras, seberapa keras usaha-mu untuk menggapainya.
aku sadar, disuatu waktu aku merasa kurang. kurang usaha kayak mereka. dan merasa tertinggal, tapi tak apalah. pasti bisa kan ya?
Plastic is the useful invention that has flexibility to shape and suitable for almost any application. Some plastics occur in nature such tree rubber which include organic plastic classification, and some are inorganic plastics that hard to decompose in nature. In this essay, the author will explain two ways to solve the main problem of plastic.
Approximately 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic are produced since the 1950s, and equal to the weight of a billion elephants. It also causes the global contamination particulary in soil and water contamination. To decrease this impact, many environment volunteers suggest to create movement to reduce the use of plastic, and divert into using tumbler and bottle. Some even conceive routine event with people in every weekend by putting garbages on the streets which can stimulate habit to maintain the environment surrounding. Thus, applying the movement into people's daily routine may be able to reduce the use of plastic.
The using of social media, as the platform of source information, should help to promote the campaign of using againts plastics. By applying in social media, people can obtain the information that volunteers provide such as the impacts of plastic waste, the campaign to trash garbages and movements to use tumbler and bottle than Aqua, Club and Le mineral mini-packaging. In social media, people inform in vorious ways such as photo, video, podcast and music. it also can communicates to other volunteers around the world even creates a collaboration if it is possible to do.
To conclude, Earth is the legacy of people's predecessor as the next generation. Managing and decreasing plastics are two of many ways to save the legacy. The author believes that every person has a good heart to keep their environment, yet they need environment volunteer to guide them to keep in good ways.
It's been super a while since i wrote my last activities (particulary in Tumblr*com). let me review a bit,
the June 25th periode came along with many new comers and their stories. some have college background, the rest still in schools even two of them on elementary school (a second and a third graders. what a student, wuaow).
Looking and then comparing them to us is just like a slap on our faces. i even said to my self, "what am i doing on that age?". playing neker, tamagochi? i don't know. but we are lucky to have them in our circle. (actually, they left us today because they already took holiday camp for two weeks)
Not only those two bocils that tell us to cheer in studying, but also they (old and others new members) who always remind us to study hard. thanks a lot. A friend of mine once told be, "do not ever compare your starting point to others in this place. maybe some them are already learned the subject long before coming here, and the rest even zero in this subject, But don't think too hard, just do and enjoy the process."

Marriage by accident (MBA), Abortion, AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases (STD) are the main problems that usually happen because lack of information about sex and education in society. Some people say that sex education needs to be teached at schools to prevent those, but the rest argue otherwise. In this paper, the author will explain both points of view.
Educating students to understand sex education material in school requires to be established to prevent people to argue this method. However, because of those reason, it can clear the equity on the curriculum which provides student to learn, and prevents the impacts of free sex. Most adult know that there are tools to avoid MBA, AIDS and STD, but not every student does such as KB pills and condoms. Sex and education also guide students to make well attitudes especially when it comes to opponent gender. Thus, the role of teaching sex and education in school is essential which prevent any STD, and also stimulate new perspective about it.
Otherwise, sex and education are taboo to discuss particulary in Indonesia. Some people even state that there is no need to educate students about sex education in schools because parents can provide better which also adjust to fit childern needs for the information. If sex education does exist in schools' curriculum, it will be wise to teach students on implicit because it requires a standard for any sex-related education in the publuc schools. In other opinion also elucidate that teaches sex education without any further guidance which can stimulate students to think about free sex as in foreign countries. Furthermore, sex and education need to be monitored by every person that related to this area.
To conclude, the impacts of sex and education information are vital. whether taught at school or not, both public school board and parents have their moral obligation to educate their young generation. The author also believes that parents and teachers have their roles to fill each other for enchaning youngsters.
Popular culture is interaction among people which mostly affected by mass media that could influence to their everyday lives and attitudes. However, there are various ways across different contexts to define popular culture. This paper will explain both points of views.
In one point of view, it is clear that popular culture shows good new trends which stimulate new behaviour in social activities. Moreover, it bears a variety of information to expand people's perspectives. For example, Indonesia Stock Exchange has successfully released a way to increase lower-middle class interest by splitting share companies cost till it reaches their economic capabilities to invest in stock area. It is a new behaviour that exist for them besides investing in gold, property and others.
In the other point of view, as people know, each new ones also has negative impact esspessially if it not prepares to counter behind it. Moreover, popular culture is foreign culture that comes and tries to blend in Indonesia, and at some point people not aware that folk culture slowly vanish by the times. As lower-middle class applied, they would prefer stock as their investation instrument because stock is far better than gold or property. In other similar case, people lately prefer watching youtube and being a video bloger than watching television and being an actor/actress.
To conclude, popular culture has both advantage and disadvantage effects in people's life. The writer agrees that popular culture has more beneficial aspect espessially in rapid stream of information era. In order to prevent negative impacts of popular culture, they should make regulation to anticipate it.
Sudah semenjak tanggal 9 april stay disini, dan hari ini (15 april) perdana masuk, rada kecewa si. istilahnya, lama amaat ye kan jeda nya. so, aku mau cerita aja ketika mulai pembelajarannya.
Day 1, tanggal 15 april 2019. jam 6.00 wib kita cuma macem kumpul2 di depan TEST untuk introduction sama setiap member dan prinsipal disini. dan dilanjut introduction class di jam 13.00 wib tentang program yang kita ambil espessially program saya, Basic English-Homeschooling. dan dilanjut MMC Class jam 19.30 wib sekalian pembagian modul green book (memorizing conversation).
Day 2, tanggal 16 april 2019. kita mulai kelas jam 5.30 wib tet. awal-awal masih santai pelajaran santai, ada bahas memorizing 3 judul, Conversation tentang 'my self', Drilling dan writting tentang Simple Present-Past Tense (verbal & nominal), Speaking tentang 'my self' dan diakhiri dengan kelas MMC class. schedule nya gini ya guys.

lanjut, malem nya MMC (multi media class) yang isi nya lebih ke relaxing nyanyi, nonton, discuss about somethin' dan motivasi yang selesai jam 21.30 wib, tapi nggk berenti disitu karena kita harus selesaikan garap homework sesuai deadline dan memorizing 3 judul untuk besok. wow kan. mantap.
Day 3, 17 April 2019 dan hari ini libur. election day. saya ke malang untuk coblosan (sewa motor coy, berangkat jam 8.00 wib sampe malang jam 9.30 wib, pulang jam 22.30 wib sampe pare jam 00.00 wib)
dilanjut silaturahim dengan keluarga Om mujib, adekku dan Ariq (temen kuliah). yaa lumayan lah nambah insight baru tiap kali ketemu.

KAMAR 4 AMELINDA Ada sebuah dorm khusus para wanita kece IELTS. Namanya Amelinda. Periode IELTS bulan kemarin, Fina telat tag kamar, survey kamar H-1 kepindahan coba 😂 dengan kondisi, kamar semua udah penuh, kecuali kamar 4. Anehnya, ketika Fina ngetag, cuma kamar 4 doang yang belom di tag sama siapapun. Sedih, akankah aku tidur sendirian 😂. Besoknya pas pindahan, eh nongol 2 orang new comers, Hau dan Jipo. Jadilah penghuni legal kamar 4 itu 3 orang. Sebenernya rada sedih awalnya sekamar sama new comers dengan kondisi yang lainnya udah pada kenal dari integrated IELTS. Sempet mikir, apa sengaja ya, anak established TOEFL biar sama new comers jadi karna sama-sama new comers diasingkan di kamar 4, wkwkwk. Namun, semua berubah sejak Mba Sukma sering ngintipin kamar dan suatu malam ia berkata, "Aku mau pindah kamar kalian, kamar kalian luas, isinya cuma 3 orang, kasurnya tebel lapis 2, kipas 2 dan lemari ada 4 padahal isinya 3 orang." Emang sih, kamar 4 bisa dibilang VIP setelah VVIP kamar 5 yang ada kamar mandi di dalam. Jadilah penghuni kamar 4 ya ada 4 orang. Tapi tetep kita bertiga menganggap Mba Suk penghuni ilegal #jahadbeud Sejak Mba Suk masuk, suasana kamar yang dihuni 3 introvert berubah gegara Mba Suk yang extrovert. Dari yang kalem, kerjanya cuma belajar, buka laptop, cek hape dll. Sejak Mba Suk masuk? Kamar jadi ketawa mulu, becanda, saling caci maki dan hina dina daan ga pernah belajar kita bertiga wkwkwk #canda Sukses buat kita semua! Jangan sombong-sombong kalo udah terkenal atau jadi istri menteri ye! Wakakak. Metode belajarnya macem-macem. Ada kelas memorizing di pagi hari. Kita dikasih modul vocab (phrasal verb, idiom de-el-el) dihapal, setor hapalan ke tutor. Dan kalo jumlahnya di bawah standar, dapet “reward” *eak. Reward-nya apa? Mau tau? Gabung gih ke kursusnya hahaha...
Masuk minggu kedua, kita mulai dikasih tugas dan scoring tiap pagi (try out gitu, tapi dengan kondisi persis real test, kecuali listening. Pendengaranmu harus belajar beradaptasi dengan situasi sekitar). Skornya dikasih tahu. Buat saya, yang skornya rata-rata dari awal program sampe selese segitu-segitu aja (diri ini banyakan maen di kelas :p), ini gak terlalu jadi momok. Toh bisa jadi tolok ukur buat tahu sebatas mana kemampuan dan itu bisa saya tanyakan kepada tutor saat kelas materi di siang dan diskusi di study night.
Gak perlu buru-buru kalo belajar mah.
Maksa dikit boleh (biar gak males), maksa banyak, jangan. Kamu harus sadar juga, starting point kamu darimana. Kalo exposure Bahasa Inggris dalam idupmu aja minim, atau kamu gak pernah nyelesein tugas dengan materi IELTS-oriented, atau ada kemampuan di otak yang memang belum maksimal, ya skor minim mah wajar. Ini bukan excuse loh ya. Ini saya kutip dari pembicaraan dengan salah satu tutor (di luar TEST).
Justru dengan kita sadar kapasitas diri (yang minim), kita malah lebih mudah nyusun ritme belajar. Dengan kita perlahan kenali apa yang kita gak tahu, kita jadi lebih mudah untuk nyasar materi yang mau kita tingkatkan. Nah saran saya, mumpung ada tutornya dan temen-temen juga, tanya mereka. Apa yang harus kamu lakuin dengan kekuranganmu? Mereka memang bukan manusia super, tapi paling enggak dari pengalaman mereka, mereka bisa kasih masukan. Gak perlu takut dicap oon. Lah ya kalo udah pinter ngapain kamu ambil kursus toh?
Contohnya saya. Saya nih termasuk slow-learner. Bisa nangkep sih materi, tapi cepet ngilang ilmunya. Otaknya suka banyak distraksi (ciyee masih muda udah banyak pikiran). Jadi langkahnya gimana? Saya kejar ritme temen-temen dengan belajar lebih sering. Tapi inget, manfaatnya dikembalikan buat diri sendiri ya, bukan cuma berdasarkan motivasi rivalitas. Gak akan ada gunanya kalo itu. Di sini juga saya dapati makna kolaborasi. Dimana kita belajar + maen bareng. Alhamdulillah dapet temen-temen yang saling support, semuanya (23 orang). Waktu serius, ya sama-sama serius. Kalo adu argumen, ya sama-sama kuat. Tapi giliran becanda, semua pada becanda selepas-lepasnya. Then, we get along with one another.
Trus gimana dengan ritme belajar saya? Saya ulang-ngulang materi, (kadang) kalo lagi rajin ya bangun sebelum subuh buat belajar (practice reading biasanya). Simpel, karena short term memory, cuma butuh sedikit fokus. Sedangkan long-term cuma butuh pengulangan. Alhamdulillah beberapa materi lebih mudah nempelnya. Beberapa tutor juga menyarankan tips, kayak dengerin podcast dan ngulang-ngulang pronounciation sebelum tidur, baca-baca artikel di link yang mereka kasih, dan metode self-study lainnya.
Hari-hari selama di TEST, gak ada yang gak menyenangkan. Bahkan ketika kita udah sama-sama ngerasa jenuh dikit kemaren, kita pun inisiatif jalan-jalan naek odong-odong ke Candi Surowono. Modal Rp 10.000 doang. Sederhana ya bahagianya hehehe...
Oh ya satu lagi momen spesial sewaktu di sana adalah periode program kami bertepatan dengan seremoni ulang tahun TEST di 1 Oktober. Ada rangkaian kegiatan, seperti...

3. Dan talkshow
Hingga tibalah akhir dari program, tepatnya 7 Oktober.
Kamipun berpisah.
Sebenernya ada jatah yang masih bagian dari paket program, yakni study group dan scholarship department. Tapi itu opsional, mau kita ambil kapan.
Setelah program, beberapa dari kami pulang ke daerah domisili buat ngelanjutin kesibukan. Beberapa ada yang stay buat lanjut kursus.
Saya dan beberapa temen milih melanjutkan program ke Warung IELTS di Jalan Brawijaya juga, untuk ambil pendalaman materi Writing Task 2. Biaya Rp 200.000 untuk materi 2 minggu pertama sedangkan untuk lanjut 2 minggu berikutnya di kelas pemantapan dan practice, ente kudu bayar lagi. Kita diajarin, prinsipnya dari dasar materi Writing IELTS. Tutornya realistis banget, kocak, tapi ilmunya keren. Di kelas ini sistem belajar yang saya ambil, materi di pagi hari jam 5.30 dan study group jam 2 siang buat bahas tugas. Terhitung sejak 12 oktober. Program ini juga pakai placement test. Satu kelas maksimal 10 orang.
Dua bulan di Pare.
Rasanya cepet berlalu.
Apalagi dipotong seminggu ke Lombok buat #NusantaraMengabdi2 dari INAVIS.
Masih ngerasa kurang banyak ilmunya, masih berasa enaknya ngumpul sama temen-temennya, tapi tahu-tahu udah aja.
Bener-bener pengalaman berharga.
Gak hanya belajar, saya menanamkan dalam diri, akan membawa apa-apa yang positif dari sini.
Cerita, nasehat, kebaikan orang-orangnya.
