We here at Squid Research Lab deeply appreciate that so many people participated in the Testfire last weekend. Thanks to such a fine group of test subjects, our research is making great progress. We can confirm that Splatoon 2 will include many different features than seen in the Testfire, and we look forward to reporting on these continuous findings leading up to the game’s launch this summer.

Ok this is really cool. for those of you playing the splatfest testfire right now, if your waiting for a match if you play with the left analog stick, the background music changes in pitch.

Splatoon 2 testfire impressions after the jump!

-Playing in tabletop mode with the separated Joy-cons is a lot like Wiimote + Nunchuk. Aim the right controller like a gun!

-Interactive music in the lobby; mix sounds with the face buttons and change pitch with sticks

-Super jumping to a teammate with splashdown, splatting a foe is so satisfying

-Hearing the losing theme all the time is kinda nice now

I’m really excited about Splatoon 2, except for paid online. Now I just need to fix my desyncing Joy-cons...
