AKA; You are a script writer and need an idea for a project.
[Trying something new for this one; this is basically similar to "choose your own ending" but with poll]

“No, no no, these sound so wrong…”
You pulled your hair instinctively, bloodshot eyes staring at the bright screen of your laptop, silently judging your action of backspacing another paragraph of your script. No matter how much you tried to beat your internal demon, you always stumbled back in defeat. The blank white page of your Microsoft Office was staring back at you, seemingly mocking your failure.
Darn, if this keeps up, your boss wouldn’t be happy…
Your eyes glanced at your entrance apartment door. Maybe you could try and walk around your apartment complex?
It’s been a month since you moved into this apartment, and you realized how little you know about the activities around you due to how holed up you are with your work. You could check what the neighbors were up to or take a break at the coffee shop downstairs. You heard a lot of good reviews for the place on Google Maps.
Mmmm, coffee shop or taking a good walk around?
Considering how much Red Bull you consumed last night, you decided the latter would be a wiser option for your own health’s sake.
Heh. Health’s sake. Wonder when you were last time paying attention to your own health ever since your boss gave you a big project to work on months ago.
So you put your laptop to sleep mode, put on your slip-ons, and prepare yourself for the small short trip to refresh your mind from the heavy burdens.
The hallway was empty when you looked around. There was nothing other than the dusty carpet flooring and the bright neon lights brightened up the plain gray walls. You could spot some houseplants right at the corners of the halls and right beside the elevator entrances. They technically did their job at giving specks of colors, but it’s not enough.
The recreation area is on the third floor, and you’re currently on the sixth floor. It was only you and the quiet humming of neon lights accompanying your quiet time as you waited for the elevator to arrive at your floor.
It didn’t take long for your lift to arrive, with the familiar soft ding dong chimed to greet you. You’re used to the sound it makes but never really paid attention to it clearly. How the gears groaned and the floor rattled as you made your way down.
You pulled out your phone to check on the current time. 20:57 was displayed right on the screen. Isn’t it a bit too late for a walk at this hour? Maybe. Time is a social construct anyway, you jokingly thought to yourself, knowing how messed up your sleeping schedule is.
Not long after, you arrived at your floor destination. The halls almost looked the same with their lighting and carpet, except it was more spacious. Several sections separate different areas, from a communal kitchen to a simple space to watch movies together. It was almost…a nice place for a change of pace?
Why did you just find out about this place? You should’ve explored earlier! You told yourself, grinning now as you walked around the areas for further checkups.
Your excitement, however, quickly shut down when your picked up voices from around the corner, stopping you in your track. You could pick up several people talking around, but it was inaudible for you to understand from this distance.
What’s this? Convos between your neighbors? Maybe you could introduce yourself to them to get a good impression.
So you decided to track down the source of the voices, where you’re now finding yourself hiding behind the wall, a couple meters away from the ongoing lively chatter of strangers that may or may not be your neighbors.
“─And this pain in the arse person almost made me commit a crime, urgh.” You peeked out. A man with his hair tied up in a bun sighed out loud, his fingers continuously typing on the keyboard of his black laptop. “Sometimes I forgot doing customer service is harder than making coffee. I’m glad Mariella holding me back.”
An older-looking taller man beside him let out a hearty chuckle, a drawing tablet right beside the laptop, and you couldn’t help but stare at the large blue and yellow fleece jacket and the man's glasses. “At least you don’t commit a war crime.” He chimed, and you noticed how oddly similar their voices were.
“I would if Mari didn’t stop me.” The shorter man pouted, and he earned a gentle nudge from the taller man.
Your eyes wandered around and quickly caught a very bizarre sight of a man with…a large snake body? It’s slightly translucent with a soft yellow glow and an arrow-shaped tip, completing the look. The lack of scales made you doubt whether it was a snake body. Maybe a ghost? Like Casper?
The ghost man was quietly reading a book, one hand holding what looked like a porcelain teacup. You couldn’t see the book title clearly, sadly. He looked so serious reading it, clearly enjoying the contents.
You were strangely calm about this situation somehow. Maybe you could join the group? Or just leave them be?
