Some Tetramyth Frisk and Chara stuff, mainly about their nonbinary gender presentation and also families:
-Frisk was adopted by the Holidays primarily at Rudy's behest. Carol didn't want to keep them at first, but they grew on her like that "dad who said he didn't want to get a cat" meme.
-This is a universe where none of the Holiday children went missing, so Carol is... still a bit cold and protective because that's how she is, but not nearly as bad as she is in canon Deltarune. Sweet in her own way, once you get to know her.
-Frisk's name was technically changed twice. At first they had their deadname pre-adoption, then the Holidays changed it to be on-theme with the rest of the family, then Frisk themself changed it again after coming out as nonbinary.
-Extending off that last bullet point, Frisk never fully discarded the name the Holidays gave them. They thought the Christmas theming was kinda fun, actually! They just wanted to be called something that they got to decide for themself for once. So their second given name was bumped back into being their middle name instead. This makes their full name Frisk Winter Holiday.
-Only their close friends and family are really allowed to call them "Winter", though.
-Being enby was one of those things that Frisk was already aware of but didn't quite have the vocabulary for. They still found out pretty early though, thanks to their family being supportive enough.
-Frisk still does childish things like play with sticks like they're wands and stuff, even as a teenager. They just plain don't see a reason to stop when it's not hurting anybody. This is one of those things that pre-friendship Chara would've made fun of them for... in which they are very obviously projecting their own issues onto them.
-Chara's parents are rich and... they were technically doting at first, but as Chara grew older they became increasingly aware that their parents valued them more as a doll to accessorize than really a person. Gotta be polite, presentable, and (eugh) "ladylike".
-This comes to ahead when Chara starts getting a LOT more bold about being their own person. They get more vocal, start experimenting with more masc and neutral gender presentation (even with their wardrobe being as limited as it was), get into arguments with their parents more. Sometimes they're just screaming matches. Sometimes it gets violent.
-Chara is a bit malnourished because witholding food was a common punishment, as well as having internalized comments over their body weight.
-It takes a while for Chara to seek out or accept outside help for dealing with their parents. Primarily because their resources and information tended to be fairly limited at first. Their parents only allowed them to have a flip phone, their internet access was heavily supervised, and they didn't have access to TV. For a while they were under the impression that this was just normal.
-Meeting Frisk and Asriel's respective families is what eventually leads to Chara realizing that, "Oh. So this ISN'T normal." There's still the issue of them lacking trust in authority figures, but this is the first step that leads to them being able to escape from their birth family.
-Chara has an interest in macabre subjects, enjoys reading horror novels, and thinks alternative fashion is cool. Depending on their mood they'd either downplay and repress these interests to avoid shouting matches and being accused of being a "demon", OR they'd actively weaponize it if they were in an antagonistic mood.
-When Chara finds out that the Prophecy still labels them a demon they were... a little conflicted about it. However it also called them a hero, and the idea that they could be both a demon and good felt strangely comforting to them.
-They are eventually removed from their birth family and adopted by Toriel, but it still takes a while for them to unlearn the behaviors they internalized from their ex-parents.
-Since I don't want this AU to be completely 1-1 with Deltarune, I'd like to think the setting takes place in a larger city area rather than somwhere small like hometown. This means the population has more of a mix of both monsters and humans around, so Chara doesn't develop such a misanthropic black and white worldview. Or, if they do, it just doesn't last for very long. This is also to justify why there are so many more human characters in comparison to both UT and DR.
