“Well, you’re still a sight for sore eyes, so I won’t complain.” Ariadne teased, stepping forward to shake the other woman’s hand. Her mother would have had an apoplexy at the sight, but Ariadne was hoping to shake that off.
“Ariadne Maren. Former Knight Captain back in Minrathous, recently joined up as a soldier and occasionally training the riffraff that are turning into the Inquisition’s army.” She gave Moira a good firm shake, and then went back to leaning against the wall. “Well, I think the Inquisition could use those talents. I’ve had some of what they’ve made, and I think some of the bread they make could be used as doorstops.”
Moira chuckled, grasping Ariadne’s hand firmly for a moment too long before releasing it.
“A pleasure. I’m sure the Inquisition will be grateful for your skills. I’ve heard farmers and merchants are enlisting in droves, so I imagine you’re teaching them from scratch.”
She winced at the description of the bread. “And I imagine it’s got all sorts of bugs in it too? Don’t worry, I’ll provide you and everyone else with fresh bread that won’t break your teeth.”
