The New Motherfucking Governor of Texas
It's really disappointing to hear that Greg Abbott won as governor of Texas when you watched his debate with Wendy Davis. Wendy is a very strong woman. She has good opinions and intentions. She wanted to raise teacher's salaries and spend more money on the education system of Texas. She was pro-choice and believed in gay marriage. Another strong thing was that she wanted to hand out driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants. As an immigrant myself and a daughter of immigrants, I can tell you that this is truly necessary. My father works digging pools. He drives around to so many places and he is an amazing driver. He is safe and he has never gotten into any sort of accident. If he were to be stopped by a police officer, with all of the racism in the south, he would probably be detained and deported. Wendy Davis wanted to secure the safety and secure people of all races and all situations. Abbott only cares for the rich people. He is against gay marriage, plans on taking away the Dream Act that was brought to the states with much struggle. He also wants to outlaw abortion which won't stop abortion, it will stop safe abortions. He believes that abortion is not the option even if it is rape or incest. To see that such an ignorant, racist, homophobic, and sexist asshole is being trusted to be a state's governor is honestly just repulsing. When asked what he would say if a little girl walked up to him and asked why her two fathers couldn't get married he said:
"I believe in traditional marriage. That's what 75% of Texans agreed with when they passed a constitutional amendment less than a decade ago saying that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. Personally this is more than a constitutional amendment, I've been married to my wife Cecilla for more than 33 years now."
Gee, Abbott, is this debate about your personal life? No, so answer the damn question. He is simply stating that he believes in "traditional marriage" and didn't even bother to actually give reasons for why it's a bad idea to believe in marriage equality in Texas. And he is also stating the it is more than a constitutional amendment which is basically saying that it comes from morals which means JESUS!!1!! I feel that religion is something that should stay far away from politics. And when asked if that's what he'd tell the ten year old he said yes and I was just like goodbye. Mr.Abbott is such a disgrace and I feel so ashamed to be in such a disgustingly republican state that it makes me want to puke. And to know that voting was taking place downstairs in my school while I was getting the education that Abbott wants to destroy by taking away funds for school and putting it in God knows what makes me want to set myself on fire. Who knows where Texas will go with a grade-A dumbass like Abbott to govern. So a big fuck you to the 2,784,134 republican assholes who voted for Abbott. And a big thank you to the 1,829,828 people who voted for Wendy. Hey, at least we tried.
Tonight, and always, proud to be on Team Wendy.
Abbott's not afraid of Davis ... is he?
Abbott’s not afraid of Davis … is he?
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has just tossed some seriously cold water on the effort to educate voters on the two major-party candidates running for governor.
He’d had agreed to take part Sept. 30 in the only statewide televised debate with Wendy Davis. Then he got a new debate coordinator, Bob Black, who promptly said “no can do.” Abbott, the Republican nominee for governor, has backed out…

I was just thinking this. They'll probably think it's disgusting when it's their fault for taking away necessary hygiene products.
