Aside from my own family's experiences, this is one of the inspirations behind this project. German settlers who came to Texas brought their language with them. Texas German became a dialect all its own and now it is dying. Hopefully awareness and the Texas German Dialect Project will help keep it alive in some way, shape, or form.
