Their heights follow a somewhat generic rule on size of the real animal, although will tend to be more human proportioned, with some exceptions (there may be very short cats or normal height cats, etc.).

Regarding social rules, all are fairly similar to real world US, so typical age of learning to drive, getting a permit/license, typical ages for school, consent etc. Although 18 becomes the “do anything” age, so drinking is lowered, and voting is altered to be “if you are 18 within the same year, you can vote, even if after the election”. The system of government is similar to the US but more lax on business regulations which allows for pseudo loopholes such as the Arena to exist and no real desire to change it even if morally dubious. This has generally created a more cautious population but also widened economic inequality.

This has led to some forms of supercities practically becoming their own governments unchecked, the one that the Arena is situated in isn’t huge however, more akin to some Vegas desert city where the primary attraction is the Arena itself, with a tiered fighter system of challengers, champions, and elites. the champion title doesn’t indicate a number 1 spot, but simply being part of the cast of strong fighters who compete for top ranking by fending off challenger or fighting each other to become an elite. While probably not super realistic for corrupt death trap arena cities or having issues only tied to class, it’s my story, so that’s how it is :x SO due to this, additional laws regarding personal freedoms and how most people in society feel about this. In particular, children are assigned birth names only for government records and identification, although it’s become customary for children to pick their real names upon reaching adolescence, though sometimes earlier or later. Name changing is a pretty typical occurrence at no cost, although people do still go by nicknames and such. Assigning gender at birth is at a point where it’s either done only by tradition, or strictly not assigned, and similarly to names are part of the self-identification freedoms in this society. Alongside this, interspecies relationships are common, adopting is more customary and less expensive.

Generally speaking, this is sort of like greater personal freedoms but less personal protections, society treats others individually better but not by class, which has kind of created a society where some argue nothing is wrong, but a lot of what’s been improved is sort of a cheap and easy band-aid solution to the fight for fair distribution of resources and a cover up for drastic/dangerous money making schemes at the expense of other’s overall well-being.

As far as robots, this universe hasn’t reached dealing with the dilemma of sentience or politics regarding AI rights, so most robots are sort of just command driven, like hunt/kill or some sort of job/task, although generally too expensive; the robots in this story are kind of a new development, and not really a primary focus of the story; they look cool, and there’s a couple of themes on natural vs. artificial, but it’s not a plot point.

Finally, regarding the purpose of the Arena, the one in charge is designated and (undecided) title of [judge/watcher/organizer/etc.] who’s motive initially seems to be money, being the primary attractor of tourism and being successful at doing so, but there’s also an underlying motive of creating a strong warrior army of sorts by drawing out hidden inner strengths of the fighters. Those who have champion status are essentially guinea pigs considered to be “potentials”, or ones who may have certain powers, while elites are ones who are guaranteed to have this strength and are capable handlers of it. They sort of exist as like, pseudo superpower/psychic hidden abilities, and the Arena is basically teasing out the best of the best in regards to those with them. The purpose is unkown, although it boils down to some sort of nefarious research for ultimate power, and Milo’s goal will ultimately change from the desire for money, desire to escape, desire to defend, and eventually a desire to put an end to this system.
