Thoughts about farm humor
Theres this weird thing on tumblr where farming in and of itself is a joke bc the general public is so disconnected with food production the thought of it seems archaic. And like. on one hand. I find all of the farming jokes hilarious, i am In Tune with the humor, corn is literally the funniest thing to me. But on the other hand almost every day of my life revolves around farming. i have an agricultural major. I work in a soil lab. I have spent Too Much of my life in a field.
I don’t know exactly what I’m trying to say here? Like. Sometimes I’m in class and the ‘farming is funny’ part of my brain turns on and I’m like I can’t believe that guy just said ‘corn breeding’ with a straight face. And then sometimes I’m on tumblr and the joke will be something like ‘im harvesting my corn’ and ill just sit there confused at what the joke is?
Just my thoughts i guess. Have a happy thanksgiving everyone and pls support your local farmers both ironically and not.
