Gisborne has his very own sense of honour -even having done so many things that are awful, he has his own lines he won't cross. When Guy says "you have my word" he *means it*.

I don't know if Éowyn still lacks text propaganda, but if she doesn't, I think I'm qualified to pitch in: not only she's gorgeous (and Miranda Otto is very beautiful indeed), but she also has so much depth to her. A princess trapped in the conventions of her role; caretaker, prize to be won, object to be coveted, and YEARNING for the violent death of a warrior. Her biggest fear is a cage - to be trapped until she starts finding comfort in the small box she has been assigned to. She violently rejects a man who's not worthy of her, and yearns for a man she sees as a promise of adventure and greatness. She simply yearns for freedom: what Aragorn represents.

Some might argue that, in the end, she comforms. I don't agree. She dresses as a warrior, being included and respected by the riders of Rohan (who pretend they totally don't know who she is). She rides on to the fields of Pelennor to try and save Minas Tirith along with her beloved king. She faces off the greatest horror Sauron ever conjured; the witch king of Angmar, leader of the Nazgûl, and KILLS HIM. She does what no one else could or even dared to dream to do.

And she falls ill, deadly ill. But she also beats those odds and is EAGER to jump back into the battlefield until Faramir, bless his heart, asks her to stop for even a second to try to mend her wounds. For her wounds are not battle-borne; she still feels like a small animal trapped in a cage, despite being a princess, and a warrior, and the bravest soldier of Rohan.

She's both cold iron and soft satin. She's both a warrior and a princess. A hero and a tragic, depressed mess of a woman who learns not to conform, but to decide when it's *enough*, when the war has been won, and when it's time to begin to build peace.

Not to mention, she lands Faramir - the best boy.

Oh nooooo! Look I know Hugh is pretty much doomed here, and I'm sure Cadfael will be glad to have his help in a crime-solving capacity when he is no longer busy with the tourney, but please please consider voting for this little sasspot!

If there's one thing I love more than a sexy villain, it's a potentially dangerous maybe-villain who actually turns out to be kind and honourable, albeit not averse to a bit of violence or trickery for the right cause.

I have failed to find the Olivia de Havilland interview that has lived in my head rent-free since I viewed it years ago on YouTube, but I wish to submit as propaganda the following anecdote (relevant, I think, since it refers to on-set shenanigans.)

During filming, Flynn was trying -- persistently -- to make them A Thing, and she was refusing to have A Thing on principle (fair.) His latest gambit had been luring her into dinner and dancing, having gotten a friend to issue her the invitation (guile!) Decades later, she still remembered the music they danced to. But she was still mad at him! So the next day, when they were filming Robin and Marian's farewell kiss at the window, she kept accidentally-on-purpose messing up the takes. Three to four snogs RUINED, until, as she recalled, chuckling, "he had a little trouble with his tights." I feel that such intense revenge snogging shenanigans, recalled half a lifetime later, are Some Kind Of Propaganda.

My principal question is, is this Propaganda for Errol Flynn as Robin Hood, or early propaganda for Olivia de Havilland as Marian in her bid for the coveted Queen of Love and Beauty title?

I'm genuinely baffled by the fact he's not winning tbh. Does being a fucking badass not count for anything anymore? Is having so much power to your strikes it knocks people back several feet even when they block perfectly not appreciated around here? No shade to Galavant or anything, he's perfectly sweet, but goddamn, being able to melee a shit ton of peeps is like the single biggest pro of medieval men! And extra points effective dagger usage, get you a man who prioritizes effective space management over flashiness!!

I do love a Britney Spears Fight Scene edit, it must be said.

Staring baffled at the current results of the Jareth vs Edgin Darvis poll: wait, you guys are actually that feral about Jareth??? I thought it was a joke?

Anyway Edgin is probably one of the men on here I'm probably feel the most comfortable spending a long time in the presence of. He is Safe in a way that very few men achieve, he has flaws but none of them are even remotely related to how he treats the women in his life, who he is intensely protective and supportive of, whether that protectiveness is physical or emotional (the scene where he's concerned about Holga forcing herself to talk to her ex is genuinely so sweet you guys, and the way he backs off immediately when Holga insists she needs the closure). Anyway compare to Jareth creeping on a teenage girl and not taking her "no", he's a fantastic villain but I want to punch him in the face to much to find him hot. Is David Bowie the hottest rock singer? He's not even the hottest singer on Under Pressure.
