Life in Loxley before everything went to shit 🫶🫶 A little comic I made for funsies and to draw the cuties obv >:)
Adeline, Malcolm and Robin actually used to be a happy family before the Cult happened💔 I mourn what they all could've been but, well, Robin needs some childhood trauma so 😇 Also I'm planning to do a little explanation post on how their family dynamics changed so stay tuned >:)
I have decided that, until the show tells me otherwise, I'm going to assume the title card of '1186' was in the wrong place in 1x01 and should have been shown when everyone was an adult, at least for my own sanity when watching the show.
I'm now halfway through the season and the action is at least marginably picking up - we have robin & co. banding together at the end to rescue three of their number who were captured and are about to hang at nottingham. at least this is getting us back on theme, but the episode is pretty zero-calorie fare the rest of the time.
+ I found myself thinking this episode that priscilla is getting more depth and layers than marian is. what's that about? are the writers just not sure what to do with marian? first she's shunted off to london, moved from room to room doing nothing much, then she's staring at some trees, then she's crying about robin and now her brother. that's the whole sum of her character for the last 4 episodes. meanwhile, priscilla is cursed by prophetic dreams, escaping out of a plan to send her to the convent, becoming ever more fanatically anti-saxon, helping her valet milange escape, and now getting the pathos of being shot and being Super Cool about it. I can't help like feeling the writing is a little lop-sided among the women.
+ I am getting very Deep Sigh about how all the women with long hair only have One Hairstyle: Some Up in Braids, Some Down. this is a stylistic complaint but hey, it's my blog!
+ as soon as they've stolen a bunch of money, the gang is splitting up to avoid the least competent armies combing the forest for them and, for some reason, leaving almost all the treasure buried in the ground half a foot down. am I supposed to believe spragart didn't double back and take as much as he could carry? none of that money, not even tuck's, went to the poor.
+ but fear not, robin is cursed with prophetic dreams too, this time of his dead dad! and a wolf that may or may not be real? hugh is very proud his son is killing all these people and he should do more of that, actually.
...will NOBODY suggest actually helping the people and not just killing normans? nobody?!?!
+ the rescue at the end was decent, and I'm happy to see isabel is back and maybe leaving her snitch husband. it doesn't pay to sell out your neighbors, dude. little john and milange got to team up, and robin did rescue ralph, drew, and henry - along with killing more soldiers. I'm not keeping track anymore; this is his main activity. it doesn't seem to affect him, though, nor ralph who seems more upset about the prospect of robin leaving (who has caused nothing but trouble since his arrival) than the fact that she's started killing people. hmm.

+ I admit, I'm not fussed by the robin/ralph kiss because I'm not fussed about most of them as actual characters right now. at least robin and ralph have shared four episodes of screentime. little john and milange and isabel have more of my attention, and even if priscilla is descending into evil thoughts, at least she's interesting to watch.
+ I am trying to keep an eye out for weird anti-immigrant themes as I watch the episodes. I would not normally be wary of commentary about invaders coming on boats but I've now skimmed enough review articles about the show to know brits are flagging this as a reform talking point about immigrants ~on boats~ *sigh*
+ I don't think I have the energy to watch another episode tonight; I'll carry on tomorrow.
Hiii, you said in your post that robin and john have a child in tomodachi life and you said that they are not canon in the original au right? I just wanted to ask if they would have a kid together or not in the original universe?
The main story of my au basically ranges across 4 years, mainly when John and Robin are 16-20 and I plan to keep it wrapped up in that time range and not go any further.
However, I do think they would have a kid like they do in tomodachi life. And yes, me and my friend have decided their kid should actually be named Robyn and that their full name will be Robyn Eleanor the second. (Aka, :robin2:). I have a few ideas of their adult life when they are in their 30s and I might share them in the future. But I'm not planning a proper storyline with those ideas so this is just a little peek into their future if anything🙂↕️🙂↕️
Thought i'd do some BBC Robin Hood Guy fanart for once, specifically season 3 Guy, since that's where he looks the most depressed and pathetic... just how i like him 😼
Drawing based on a scene from season 3 episode 6 "Do you love me?" specifically. Another shock: Yes, the episode including Prince John, where him and Guy are lowk extreamly gay for eachother, is in fact one of my favorites.
