so smack apparently lived in a sort of commune that was just outside the city that was eventually discovered by the company and shut down. apparently it became a slaughter, presumably because the people there refused to cooperate and revolted instead of allowing themselves to be moved into the city.
The youths of the town were then given a choice; join or die. Most of her friends fell to the Dracs, and many others lost their lives.
so after all the parents were killed, the kids were converted, presumably through the... YOUTH DIVISION, AW YEAH..
So, taking her new identity to the next level, she cut her hair, obscured her facial features with “war-paint”, and started living in-between genders.
smack had a shaved head and constantly wore skull make-up and... was canonically genderqueer but tend to lean towards presenting as male more often out of safety rather than any 'choice' of hers. also i think she's got a pretty decent bout of paranoia considering her past, since was convinced that they were gonna hunt her down to finish the job on her town, and whether or not that's true is probably up for interpretation y'know...
Before the Dracs came, she lived in the care of her parents, who were killed, along with her three older brothers. Her younger siblings (4 brothers and 2 sisters) either were reformed or were killed running away. She never found out what happened to them, but holds out hope that one of them could still be alive and sane.
Because she lived in such a large family, the hardest part of life on the run is being alone. She takes on a “caretaker” role when given the chance, and is very protective of those she cares about.
SIGHS A LOT... SIGHS SSSSOOOOO MUCH.....
Although she lost those closest to her, she does not fight the Dracs for revenge. In order to deal with the stress of life on the run, she became a slam-chaser to preserve what little sanity she had left. She hunts Dracs and robs them for money so that she can keep herself glossed-out and numb.
see THIS IS INTERESTING BECAUSE.... i love her reasons for turning to drugs, especially since she apparently never had the experience of being pressured into taking pills by the city's influence, she just started self-medicating on her own.
she also wasn't even much of a killer until after meeting red, which just makes me adore the way their relationship progressed afterwards... the influences they had on each other and how they both changed after meeting each other omfg aND WHAT THEY ENDED UP BECOMING, DANG
also it turns out smack was really skilled with knives which means smack was the one who initially taught red and ughfdgkfsdg cute....
