bubbly as can be, unapologetically emotive, cute as a button, and deeply passionate about the things that ought to matter — really, you’d be hard pressed to find something about textbox-chan that doesn’t make her even more loveable than she already is! unless, of course, you don’t share her belief that accessibility and legibility should be prioritised over aesthetics in the creation of user interfaces, of course… but in that case you probably aren’t all that compatable and should maybe start looking elsewhere for a life partner
communication is key with her. well, it should be key in any relationship but with textbox-chan it’s especially important — which should come as no shock given that, at one point, she was literally a user interface herself. and communication covers everything from actually paying attention to what she’s saying to you instead of just nodding along absentmindedly or skipping her dialogue, to telling her when you’re upset or tired or angry instead of just lashing out or storming out, to not just going on the defensive during arguments and making an effort to keep levelheaded so you can both come to an agreement, and everything in between. and she gives as good as she gets so you don’t need to worry — plus you making an effort to be attentive with her will always get you a very pleased response from your girlfriend, so do with that whatever you will
she very much so appreciates being on the receiving end of words of affirmation from you — and she’s especially partial to compliments about her work, her font choices, and all the little details she focuses on to make the user experience that much more enjoyable to navigate. not to say that she can’t, or doesn’t, appreciate being called gorgeous or pretty or beautiful by the person she loves, because she does, just that appearance-based compliments tend to feel a bit more shallow and placating to her and textbox-chan would rather you focus on the things that she’s proudest of and has put the most time and work into
over the course of your relationship, even if you’re the dryest texter on the planet, you will eventually start to adopt and use kaomojis when messaging her. maybe not many, maybe not any that you use when texting anyone who isn’t her, but slowly but surely you’ll end up with a few of them saved on your phone so you can send them to her with ease — at least one of the cutesy ‘encouraging’ ones, and maybe a few more for expression or flavour depending on your preference
textbox-chan is the most considerate person when it comes to communicating with you online, especially if you have a great deal of trouble parsing out tone over text or struggle to read messages for one reason or another. because she always goes that extra mile to make sure she’s completely understood, both in the tone and content of her messages, and she makes an effort to consistently adapt her communication to your needs — accommodating you in every way she can think of, because with how much time you spend apart due to her work it’s a necessity that you two are able to speak clearly no matter the medium
her kisses usually tend to be on the chaster side, playful and sweet as she is and always sure to leave you lightheaded, wanting, and even a little bit giggly from her infectious laughter between every kiss. she’s also a lip chaser and could happily spend a morning off cuddled up on the couch and exchanging kisses without ever growing tired of them or of you
as far as pet names go she tends to lean towards the cutesier side of things — think along the lines of ‘sweetie’, ‘baby’, ‘honey-bunny’, and the like - with a few more traditional ones thrown in here and there whenever she thinks they fit the most. though her penchant for sweet terms of endearment should almost go without saying given her particular speaking quirks
after you two become an item, you pretty much become textbox-chan’s main testing audience for (pre-realisation) any new fonts, transitions, sound effects, sprites, and additional features she decides to try out for one reason or another / (post-realisation) every draft of the speeches she does for public and private events, pretty much filling the role of beta reader and mistake catcher as she seamlessly smooths out each piece until it’s good enough as a base for her to memorise and improvise off of when the actual event comes around. and, rest assured, she does make sure that you’re very well compensated for your help
as she’s told you since you first met (or, well, first actually met, courtesy of skylar), textbox-chan is always on your side. and when you two become an item that translates to, amongst many other things, her always stepping up to support and encourage you to pursue the things that intrigue you or that matter to you without even the barest hint of hesitation — fully embodying the role of cheerleader in all but her outfit as she continually goes out to bat for you, continues to uplift you, and cheerfully celebrates all of your achievements with all the same excitement as she does her own. cute! just like her
