tbh. something that's been on my mind a lot. this is obviously going to differ for different people and all but in my personal opinion: a cisgender butch woman has more in common with trans women than trans men. you are reclaiming the idea of womanhood in a society that has very specific boxes for what a "woman" should be, should act like, should look like, should want. you find your joy and identity in loving womanhood and (often) other women. i often gravitate towards stories about trans women because even though i can't relate to the experiences 1/1, i love reading stories about women whose lives revolve around other women and loving their personal experience of womanhood.
this isn't anti-transmasc butches in any way, i don't personally identify as transmasc necessarily but i'm cafab and a nonbinary butch person and it would be crazy hypocritical of me to say you can't be transmasc and butch. i'm also not discounting the existence of transmisogyny in butch spaces, a shared love for womanhood doesn't necessarily mean we are all going to be singing and holding hands and getting along. i just see "butch" conflated with "trans man" as equivalents or siblings to each other constantly and it's always felt kind of simplistic to me.
