Before phones came loaded with perilous pings from Twitter, read receipts, or news alerts, the researchers found, they posed less of a risk to the integrity of their users’ faces.

The dangers of texting and walking

So I just did a stupid thing, I hurt myself while walking out of the bathroom. In doing so, the pattern in which I completed tasks was different from usual. I was looking at my phone, and turned off the lights, and only about 1/3 opened the door. Instead of making sure the opening was large enough for my body to fit through, I just walked, face first, into the side of the door. Oops.
