Big ass text post with opinions and shit
Seriously, if you don’t have a good attention span/hate being told the truth then you should just leave right now…
(If someone could give this a boost for me, that would be great)
Let me tell you some of the things that I hate….
1) Slut shaming: First of all, sluts do not exist, it’s perfectly fine to have sex, it’s perfectly fine to have sex with people of the same gender, it’s perfectly fine to have sex just because it’s pleasurable, it’s not immoral to do any of these things, and it’s a perfectly natural urge to have, society has taboos set in place due to the apparent moral guidelines we live by that shame people who have sex with more than one person within a short amount of time, these morals were put in place by religious teachings and have been cemented as social taboos for centuries, doesn’t mean that they’re right does it?
2) Rape culture: Rape culture does exist, and the most prominent I’ve seen so far, comes from my generation, YouTubers like TheSyndicateProject and PewDiePie are famous for essentially filling every one of their videos with the word “Rape" and teaching an entire generation of children that it’s okay to say it, it’s being turned from a disgusting horrible thing that ruins people’s lives to a word that people use as a joke, and society is accepting it, this makes me loathe anyone who even uses it jokingly…as it is not a joke.
3) People deliberately calling someone who is non-binary a binary title: This really gets on my nerves because I am a non-binary person due to me being genderfluid, I completely understand if someone does it without realising it, everyone makes mistakes, but if you deliberately disregard how someone identifies and instead call them how the physically are, then god help me I really hope you get knocked down a couple of pegs for being a bigoted, opinionated dick.
4) The shaming of people due to weight: This works both ways, I get shamed by a lot of people who want to be skinnier because I complain about being skinny, people don’t seem to know that because I’m so dangerously underweight, I can’t buy many clothes without having to pay to have them custom made due to me being 6’00" tall and only weighing 8.5 stone, they also seem to forget that me being underweight means I have a much higher risk of becoming ill and sick with viruses and diseases, the same goes for people who are overweight, society seems to think that “they’re overweight, they probably did it to themselves…" This is wrong of them, due to the fact that people can rarely control how much weight they lose or gain over their life, it’s entirely predetermined by their metabolism, so it is a lot harder for some people to lose or gain weight than it is for others, there are some more points on this topic I would like to bring up, but I’m trying to keep this as brief as possible.
5) Societal expectations and opinions of Generation Y: Society has basically fucked over millennials due to the fact that the average minimum wage has been lowering drastically and the amount of effort put in to jobs has been drastically increasing, (UK statistics, not sure about the rest of the world) not to mention the amount of debt our generation has been saddled with by the last, and then they seem to have the cheek to call our generation vain…
Our society also expects us all to work our entire life and have a job and a house and all fo these other things that aren’t needed for a happy life, people should be able to go out there and do what they want to do, what they enjoy, what they’re good at, invent, create, compose, paint, capture, anything..but there are taboos in society that prevent us from doing that and being “socially acceptable," and that’s why I think our generation is going to hell in a handcart…
6) Societal expectations of people of differing sexes: Now this goes both ways, so hear me out.
Men in society are always expected to have to be strong and masculine, to never show weakness or any emotion that isn't something to do with being strong, this means that people like myself who are scrawny weak effeminate people are cast aside and told that we're not "man" enough.
Women in society are expected to be "girly" and "weak" because it's fucking ingrained in society that they have to be, and people believe it, women are expected to "be good housewives" or not to work "too hard" because society views them as weak, which is exactly the opposite, women are strong as hell, have you seen someone going through childbirth? It's painful as hell, men wouldn't be able to handle it.
This has been your friendly neighborhood autistic genderfluid 15 year old attempting to go into small depth on sociology and psychology, bye! ^^
