The story of getting my song released...(part 1)
Howling At The Moon....In the Beginning was the word...
Quite suddenly, in the dead of night, back in April, 2017 I awoke with a head full of words all shouting to get out! I stumbled into my studio, still half asleep, grabbed a pen and some paper and scribbled away before stumbling back to bed.
The next day, on going to see what had occurred, I was confronted with a couple of pages of scrawled lyrics and a song that was seemingly intact from beginning to end.
The subject matter was unusual and intrigued me, but I was not sure what to do with it as it was quite a departure from your average pop song lyric!
The pages were neglected for a month or so and only on carrying out a forced tidy up of my studio did I pick them up again determined to do something with them. I grabbed my guitar and guess what?
Once again the song pretty much wrote itself. It seemed effortless as if it was waiting there all the time, the dark driving pace of the verse line going into the brighter melody of the 'hook' and chorus with its major to minor chord progression which lent it an immediately catchy and familiar quality.
I liked it instantly and new I had a strong song on my hands. The question was, what to do with it?
