That’s definitely how I feel about the 100th episode. I love Nora, I truly do, but I feel like the story of the 100th was her story and the catalyst to reintroduce Thawne into the show, rather than be about Barry. I get we’ve gotten Flashpoint and the Runaway Dinosaur and that this season is about Nora, but it was driven by her wanting to know her dad, her seeing her parents in love, her racing to see her grand parents, and her interactions with Thawne. It didn’t feel Barry centric.
It was not Barry centric at all and I don’t think it was that memorable for a 100th episode. I’ve watched it 7 hours ago and the main thing I remember is that Tom C was in it a lot and that, even if their plan was good, team flash still couldn’t get a win. It’s the 100th, they could have let them win but no.
You brought up an interesting point about Tom C. He did take over the 100th episode last night. I loved his EOwells and sherloque, but he took up way more screen time than he ever did on an episode he directed. This doesn't look good for Todd H, who usually writes masterpieces. Plus, the lack of Candice promo from TF social media just sullied the whole thing for me. Glad the media hyped her up even if her WA scenes were underwhelming. However, this milestone just makes me sad.
I deleted the post since but thank you for agreeing! Don’t get me wrong, I really like Tom C and I loved all the characters he had portrayed on the show, and I liked this episode but I feel it should have been more about Barry as a person and as the Flash, and his relationship to Iris should have been a pivotal thing in that episode, we should have got a meaningful scene with them, and with them Nora when they act like a family (like a diner scene or something). I loved the Barry/Nora scenes but I wish Iris would have been more included in them. Sometimes it feels like Nora is Barry’s daughter only and Iris is just an afterthought...
To me, the episode should have been on the same level as “The Runaway Dinosaur” and it clearly wasn’t.
wait can you explain what nora is doing with thawne? are they working together? i got a bit confused about that?
To be honest, I’m still a bit confused too. Are they working together? Definitely. But the “why” and “how” have yet to be revealed.
