TF: SHOJO RETURNS!!!
Orion Sato, team leader and summoner of the power of Optimus Prime! I’m not happy with her armored form yet, but this was a good test run! I know what I’d like to add eventually.
Yes, older veteran magical girls that mentor the new ones! Some are encouraging and enthusiastic, but a few are bitter and jaded, because they've made mistakes and lost comrades/lost their bond to their respective mecha. Also, a cool, edgy lone wolf magical girl that shows up mysteriously with a super powerful mecha every now and then who needs to learn the value of teamwork and the power of friendship.
Everybody wonders why this mysterious “Cadmus” figure keeps showing up to help them- they’re kind of playful and friendly but they’re serious when it counts and have incredible abilities and don’t seem to be entirely human by any means, nor really Cybertronian.
Things only grow more mysterious when Cadmus, who typically refuses to fight for them, instead training and assisting them from behind the scenes, intervenes in a catastrophic battle with Megatron, and to everyone’s astonishment, when Cadmus places herself between Megatron and Orion- Megatron pulls the shot rather than destroy her!
What does this mean for Team Prime? Tune in next week to find out!

Some thoughts on magical girl robot crystal stuff
OKAY
So, you probably don’t want the robots to be contained in a way where it seems cruel to keep them in there and only let them out to fight, especially since this seems like it’d probably go in more of a cute+funny direction than a messed-up dystopia.
Therefore, some variant of Shadowzone stuff might be a better idea than stasis or some other restraint. Maybe the Shadowzone isn’t too bad, but it’s kinda boring, and the Autobots and Decepticons can’t really fight each other for reasons.
Possible reason 1: Autobots are in one section of Shadowzone, Decepticons in another, and they can’t find each other to fight.
Possible reason 2: Something is wrong with physics. Weapons don’t work, and punches/blows/etc land too weakly to actually work. Fights just end up like slapfights. Not very good for finishing a war.
Maybe they’re usually on Cybertronian shadowzone or something, but can be pulled up to “shallow” Shadowzone by the humans and wander around on Earth, unable to really affect people and stuff.
Maybe there’s alternate versions of all hardscape stuff in the Shadowzone? Like, if a skyscraper exists in X place, any robots currently in X place can mess with it and affect their version of the skyscraper, but the human version stays intact no matter what happens to the Shadowzone version.
(partly because this would mean humans could find a junkyard or whatever for robots to mess around in without actually affecting anything)
@bettsplendens outta left field with some A+ ideas! Yeah, I figured they’re either stuck in some sort of weird pocket dimensions where they can’t directly interact, or they actually spend most of their time “asleep” or otherwise unable to maintain presence/focus. Similarly- the girls can’t keep them active for too long or they start wearing down and losing power, and might disappear or go into stasis if they push it: which means that anything they do comes with a time limit.
Also, this means there’s an episode where at least one of the humans is stuck in the shadowzone too and is like aaaaaAAAAAAAA???????
An entire arc that surrounds the Autobots and Decepticons trying to find the ancient relic the Star Sabre. And it turns out to be something that can only be found when two sides work together. There's a road trip involved and Blaster complains viscously that Soundwave won't stop playing boy band music the entire time.
Soundwave’s human companions are part of a JEM-style pop/rock band and each of them can use one of the cassettes as a special armor/weapon. They have an entire plot about embedding mind control in their music.
In the TF shoujo 'verse, are the mecha pre-existing identities that bond with humans? Do the magical girls use the TF's spark crystals to transform? Do you think they would attatch them to transformation wands or to pieces of jewelry? If the crystal was damaged, do you think that would also hurt the one they're bonded to as well? Sorry, this is a lot of questions, but like, magical girls and robots are like my two favorite things and this is such a good concept.
I ACTUALLY WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS okay so the Autobots and Decepticons already exist, and were at war, but they’re either trapped in the Shadow Zone somehow or kept in stasis when not active, but the magical girls use small trinkets imbued with their energy to maintain contact with them and to summon their armor (which gives them cybertronian armor and features to fight with) or to summon the bots themselves for a time.
I don’t know for sure exactly how it all works and I’m super welcome for suggestions, I like the idea that the crystals they use to summon them might be physically connected to the point where stealing a crystal or damaging it may have effects on the bot or the girl.
I’ll try to sketch some of them in their MAGICAL GIRL TRANSFORMATION POWER ARMOR later after I’m done with some tasks but so far pretty much all I know is that Orion is the first one to accidentally summon an Autobot because she finds the Matrix Crystal (or whatever it is idk) and Optimus is accidentally “woken up” because he hears the name Orion while her friends are calling to her and WHOOPS YOU SUMMONED A ROBOT TIME TO F I G H T
... so, with the magical girl thing, you haven't mentioned Headmasters or Masterforce at all. So the magical-girl-transform-summon thing doesn't result in the transformers involved building up enough power that they become real/can escape that shadowzone?
Eventually they probably do. Maybe that’s the overarching plot? Trying to find all the magical space relics hidden across earth in order to unlock the shadow zone and free them, or at least help them out. But until that point, they keep getting pulled back to the shadowzone after a time.
