Issue 2, pages 28-32
It's him! The guy I talked about!
I know this is a nice, big update, but I don't think my hiatus is officially over yet. We'll just have to see.

Mission Failed (we'll get 'em next time)
So, no update this month. Life happened and it really happened. I whipped this up as an apology of sorts, but I know it's not the same.
I'm as disappointed as you are. At the beginning of the month, I was motivated. I thought I'd be able to get like 7 pages done. Then shit started happening and then it became 2. Then I couldn't even get those done. I hate promising something and then not delivering on it, even in a small way, but that was the hand I was dealt this time.
Maybe in a month or two, my life will become uneventful again and I can finally introduce this damn guy.
April Fools!
Hello everyone. Usually I'd have a joke of some kind prepared for the occasion, but whatever I had in mind this year, I forgot what it was. I very suddenly became employed (and by that I literally mean yesterday) and didn't think about my comic. That being said, I feel bad for being ill prepared for today and thus my apology to you is this cool poster thing I made half a year ago for TF:RiE. I wanted to post it when Issue 2 was done but that's kinda taking forever...
So here it is now! Who are these people? What the hell are they wearing? Why is that rat so big? So many questions to add on top of the list of questions you probably already have. But they'll be answered some day. Hopefully I can end hiatus this month and be close to the end of Issue 2. I'm feeling it might be time.
Issue 2 pages 26 and 27. Bet you thought you weren't getting these two pages by the end of January, did ya? That being said, I think it's time for a proper hiatus. I have an original comic that I've been working on that I'd love to sink some more time into.
And don't worry: to those who are new, hiatus doesn't mean I stop working on Rivals in Espionage altogether, it just means I don't drop new updates for it for a while. Hopefully it's not long. See ya when I see ya.
Handier Dandier Website Link!
Hi everyone, I decided to set up a website for my comic Team Fortress: Rivals in Espionage on ComicFury, so now you can read it on its own dedicated website instead of navigating a Drive link!
The link is: https://tfrivalsinespionage.thecomicseries.com
I'm still figuring out how this thing works and what would be the best way to format the site for my comic. If you have any tips for me, I'd appreciate them. Hope it's much easier to share now!
Meet Alex
Here's a little bit more on one of the main antagonists of my comic Team Fortress: Rivals in Espionage! You DO NOT have to read this in order to understand the comic, this is just for fun! (And if you wanna read the comic, the whole thing's on this blog!)
Alex Morissen is a Pyro for BLU team (though not the one the mercs are familiar with). Snarky, deadpan, and an avid arsonist, Alex gets to live the dream of setting Spies ablaze on the clock and singing alt rock hits in his spare time. Despite his personality, he gets along well with his team and even has a deep friendship with a few of them.
After I started creating his character, I only had a vague idea of what I wanted him to be. I knew I wanted him to be into music, but I didn't know exactly what kind of music he'd be into. Based on my friends' interests, I decided to give the album The Queen is Dead by The Smiths a listen. Then I saw a picture of Johnny Marr. I DESIGNED ALEX BEFORE I SAW THIS PICTURE, so I knew for sure this was a perfect match.
Lowkey rock with a little bit of angst and dark humor, poetic verses and casual verses working together to convey human experiences thought by most to be too mundane to be put into song, and the most important element of all: self-awareness. That's everything I wanted in this character, and I can't wait to write him more. It's a shame that Alex is stuck in 1971 and that album is a decade and a half away from coming out, because he'd be a huge fan and Johnny Marr would definitely be his role-model otherwise.
The next update will be out later this month and it will likely be 4 pages, but it'll be a hefty 4 pages. See you all then!
Just now saw one of the speech bubbles in Issue 2 was not finished properly so I'm quitting comics forever. Goodbye everyone. I'm kidding, I just went back and fixed it.
It's my pleasure to give you all pages 15-21 of Issue 2 at a record-breaking pace. It was my goal for the year to get to this twist in the story (although this is far from the only twist this story will have), so this update is huge for me personally.
I think since I'm uploading multiple pages at a time, a monthly update format would be perfectly suitable for me. I hope you all love these 7 pages and see you in November!
