Doing some brushing up studies before big plane maintenance exam #2 in a few days, and this section on corrosion flipped the Transformer fic/world building switch in my head👀👀

Might be a big reason why some Cybertronians are squeamish of organic organisms. Corrosion's not something a being made of metal would take lightly.

Also in aviation we have to keep an eye out for microbial critters in fuels too, jet fuel especially. There's a type of microbe that loves to live in jet fuel (it's got a high viscosity & holds water too easily). They collect with water at the bottoms of warm fuel tanks and can clog fuel filters, sumps, sensors, fuel lines, pumps, engines, everything- in addition to corroding everything metal in their path. Rubber seals and gaskets or rubber fuel tank cells don't fare too well either, the acids they produce can deteriorate those as well.

Still tweaking Animated Dogfight's altmode details. To keep him plane related with TFA's "Autobots don't fly" thingy, he shares a similar spaceship tug altmode with Powerglide.

And I've been thinking about making Dogfight's circular helm accessory thingy a spotlight and/or one of those signal lamps used to communicate in Morse Code with aircraft in WW2 (& is still used to communicate with pilots who's radio's don't work/don't have any for some reason in 2023 and/or to talk with a silly pilot who forgot to turn their radio's on or to the right frequency)

Far be it from me to question the logic used by the Autobots in the Animated universe but I never got why they just exiled the Decepticons? Did they honestly think they would play nice and never bother them again? Seems foolish and irresponsible to me!

I dunno, probably to keep Megatron away from Vector Sigma, Allspark, and other powerful resources on Cybertron? If I remember right (I'm probably wrong on details, I'll skim thru the AllsparkAlmanacs when I get home. Bear with me, I've had a long day 😅) Ultra Magnus had sent the Allspark thru a Space Bridge as a last ditch effort. Ultra Magnus probably felt it'd be better to deal with random attacks from a weakened/discouraged enemy than risking them getting them getting control of the power they wanted. According to the Almanac, Megatron did start the war because he wanted to use the Allspark to "turn Cybertroninto an interstellar juggernaut."

Tho more logically I want to say the show creators thought it'd be interesting if they did a nostalgic nod/throwback to the G1 movie where the Decepticons ended up controlling Cybertron and forced all the Autobots off, but then the Autobots did the same in Five Faces of Darkness. I dunno, just a thought. :')

Thought I’d play with this design I did for a TFA Cloudburst in comic form. Part 1 of 2 I’m doing to also help me figure out his character some more. Unlike Jetfire and Jetstorm, his upgrade was more voluntary- he just didn’t realize the price would be the Autobot Elite Guard wanting him to train up and join them in fighting Decepticons. He’d much rather stick to ferrying cargo ships to Cybertron’s moons and adventuring with his friend Landmine.

Landmine is a young Autobot protoformed long after the war ended. he’s a bit of a laid back, adventurous guy, more extroverted than his buddy, Cloudburst. Although a social guy, he prefers to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city if he can. Using his offroad ATV mode he skirts about the outer reaches of Iacon in search for relics and treasures from Old Cybertron before the Great War. Cloudburst often teams up on adventures with Landmine when he’s not transporting cargo ships or purposefully flunking training with Jetfire, Jetstorm, and Metalhawk Elite Guard. by hitching a ride on Cloudburst’s new aerial mode, Landmine and Cloudburst can now explore more places they couldn’t reach before.

Gave a 2nd shot at a TFA Landmine design. Tried incorporating little bits of his G1 Pretender shell in his design like I did Cloudburst. He’s based on the Jet Twins pre jet forms from the IDW Arrival comic. I thought it’d be fitting since Metalhawk has the same aerial frame as the twins, which is why I did the same for Cloudburst.

 So far I like this a lot better than a previous doodle I did of him in the background of a comic :

when you get to build on multiple plots you have in mind for other tf comics in the one you’re working on now >w> 

(I really want to do a pirate themed minicomic or two for Seaspray where he fights off Decepticon Space Pirates + a gang of Quintessans and their Sharkticons who have interests in taking over his favorite little aquatic planet)
