Bumblebee always considered himself a real energetic bot, no matter what life threw his way he tried his best to remain cheerful and peppy. However, there were days when it felt like life just threw EVERYTHING it had at him suddenly, causing a hectic day for him. First it was go stop a robbery at a bank, then it was pick up Sari from school because Sumdac was busy, after that do routine check up with Ratchet, listen to Ratchet lecture you on getting more sleep and drinking less caffiene, get hit by someone on the road NOT watching where they are going, go see Ratchet again with another lecture and then Optimus tells ya you got monitor duty tonight.
by the time Bee got to sit down and stare at the blank screen in front of him, he felt like his processor was totally fried. Thank primus he took his meds today because if he hadn't he was sure he would explode. It was a hectic day he would get to follow up with a boring night.
Bumblebee was absolutely dreading it and he just tried to get comfortable in his chair and rest his helm against the desk. Maybe if he could fall asleep he could sleep through the entire thing...
"Someone looks tired..."
Bee jumped at the sudden voice before he turned around to see a familiar red optic staring down at him with concern.
"Oh geez mech, don't scare me like that..." Bee huffed, laying his helm back on the table.
"I just wanted to know if you were okay... You look like someone ran you over..."
"Yea well I certainly feel like I was ran over... Thanks for the awesome compliment though."
"Right... Sorry..." Shockwave whispered and Bee sighed.
"No, no don't be... I'm sorry I'm being crabby... I've had a busy day... And not in the fun way." Bee explained. "That's not your fault though... I just can't believe I'm gonna end this night with moniter duty!"
Bee whimpered, shaking his helm sadly before suddenly sitting up as Shockwave's claws wrapped around his shoulders.
"W-woah whatcha doing Shocks?" Bee asked and Shockwave only chuckled.
"I'm trying to get you to relax honeybee. You said you had a terribly busy day so I thought it was the least I could do." Shockwave purred, massaging Bee gently in just the right spot between his shoulder joint and the rest of his frame.
"Oh you don't have to do that b-but... Hah, well don't let me stop you..." Bee whispered, relaxing into Shockwave's touch. Tense muscles and a weight he hadn't even noticed was there suddenly seemed lifted from him.
"You know... We could use one of these monitors to watch something, surely we can afford to take our optics off one of these cameras for just a bit..." Shockwave suggested, nuzzling his helm into Bee's neck.
"I couldn't agree more... Just don't let boss bot hear about this okay?"
Shockwave nodded in agreement, picking Bee up so they could get into a much more comfortable position. One where Shockwave was sitting on the seat Bee was just on and Bee was in his lap, now sipping on a bit of coffee Shockwave brought for them to share.
Shockwave struggled not to giggle as Bee nuzzled his chest and neck, spots where he was a bit ticklish. Of course Bee didn't let that stop him in his PDA, nothing really could when he was commited to it. He wasn't even glancing at the screen as he shushed Shockwave, telling him to keep quiet so he could find something for them to watch. He couldn't help but be such a tease like that~
"H-honeybee! Cut it out w-will you and find something for us to-to watch?" Shockwave whispered through his laughter, causing Bee to giggle and shake his helm.
"Okay, okay, geez someone is impatient huh?~ Hmm... Wanna watch some garbage reality TV?"
"Don't we always just complain when we watch those kinds of shows?"
"Yeah but I love complaining when it's with you. Plus I don't want to use my brain for a while."
"Fair enough."
Cuddling Shockwave while the two of them watched some... Lesser quality shows together was exactly the kind of mindless activity Bumblebee had needed... He would lean against Shockwave's chest, hearing the soft sound of Shockwave's spark beating and feeling the warmth that just surrounded such a big frame. Every once in a while Shockwave would pause and the two of them would talk about how obviously edited a moment was or a particular person who was annoying them both.
"Can she just stop being so rude and speaking over the other girls? She keeps saying they're fogetting their manners but she's been the worst this entire season..." Shockwave huffed and Bee shook his head.
"Betcha she only made it this far because of the producers." Bee muttered and Shockwave nodded.
The show was stupid, plainly stupid and frustrating to watch at times, it was overproduced and felt like every other reality show you could find out there. At some point Shockwave had paused the show and gone off on a tangent about a topic the show brought up. Bee didn't bother to remind him of the show, he just let Shockwave go on and on. Hearing his voice always made him feel so much better after a rough day, no matter what it was he was talking about.
The way Shockwave would gesture and emote with his hands and body only made it more endearing too...
After he was done, Bumblebee giggled before asking him. "Want to stop watching for now?"
Shockwave huffed, taking a sip of their shared coffee before answering.
"Nope, let's keep going." He whispered, unpausing the video as Bee' smile only widened.
A couple more sips of coffee, more episodes of garbage TV and Bee and Shockwave were both much more lively.
"You wanna actually watch something good now?" Bee asked and Shockwave chuckled.
"I would love to honeybee..."
The rest of the night stopped being a warm haze for Bumblebee, it was instead all so clear for him, him and Shockwave were both quiet as they watched one of their favorite movies. Sometimes pausing to comment on their favorite moments or to grab snacks and a drink. At some point Bulkhead offered to take their place for the overnight job but both of them politely declined. They were having fun and though Bumblebee was still somewhat tired from his day, he was so happy it would end on such a wonderful note.
Just him and Shocks together, Bee comfortable in his lap while they shared coffee and snacks. Sunflower seeds, popcorn and pretzals, it wasn't a movie theater and it wasn't a night filled with anything but junk food.
But these quiet intimate moments between them meant everything to Bumblebee. Nobody would really know about this night or everything that happened during it, because it would be a rather boring story to tell.
But Bumblebee looked forward to another busy day, in the hopes of having an even more boring night, as long as Shockwave was there to make it magical. Just for him...
