Have you ever played or seen subnautica? Just imagine Optimus and Megatron's reactions to a human reader who has some pet leviathans. Like, They gotta find a large relic in the ocean, so the reader is just like, "Oh! Let me call one of my bois for help! *clears throat* "Luci! Come here, my precious baby bean!" *Gargantuan leviathan comes out of the water*

A/N: I've never played Subnautica, but I have seen some clips of it, or at least I'm pretty sure. Idk if this ended up being any good, but at least I had fun writing it lol

~Megatron~

Megatron was waiting for you on the beach, and there was clearly something big in the water

Whatever it was, it seemed like it was waiting for something

Megatron kept an eye on it, because something so big couldn't possibly be harmless and the fact that it was lurking right under the surface, made him feel a bit uneasy

He was so focused on keeping an eye out, that when you finally got there, he didn't even notice at first

You had to talk to get his attention, and when you approached the water, he snatched you up because "It's not safe"

You ask him what he's talking about, and he tells you there's something ginormous in the water

You chuckle and tell him it's nothing to worry about, it's just your pet

Megatron blinked a few times, because how in the name of Primus could a small, fragile human have tamed something that big

You get your diving gear on and just tell Megatron to follow you into the water

The beach you're at, gets deep very quickly and there's just a sheer drop about 35 meters away from shore

Megatron follows you into the water, he just walks on the ocean floor, because a big ass hunk of metal such as him doesn't just float

When you're deep enough, Megatron finally sees what was in the water and the creature is like ten times bigger than he originally thought

He's immediately ready to fight this thing, but you get in between him and your little pet and motion for the leviathan to come closer

It reaches its tentacle towards you and you give it a little pet

Megatron is of course suspicious of this thing, but if it's gonna help him get an edge against the autobots, he doesn't really care that much

~Optimus Prime~

Optimus was aware you had some kind of plan on how to get to the relic as quickly as possible, but he was not aware of what it was

So when he got to the beach and you were sitting on a very odd looking rock near the shore, he asked what you had in mind

You told him "Luci's gonna help us. Right Luci?" you asked and patted the rock you were sitting on

The rock started moving and Optimus realized it was actually a giant tentacle

It brought you to shore and you told Optimus that "Luci" would take him to the relic

Optimus had to ask "And what exactly is Luci?"

You told him that Luci was your pet and a leviathan, and it knew exactly where he was supposed to go to get the relic

Luci happens to a bit of a hoarder, and has collected many items from the ocean, the relic being one of them

You know where its nest is, so when the relic's location showed up on the map, you knew it was there

You couldn't go with Optimus, because even if you went by boat and had enough air, the pressure most definitely wouldn't be good for you

Optimus is quite intrigued by this leviathan creature, because he wasn't aware anything organic could be this big, at least on earth

He is being cautious, but since you seem to trust the creature, he does too

When you tell Luci it's time to go, it grabs Optimus with one of its tentacles and off they go

Bumblebee:

fav genre definitely action films, i think as long as there's a bunch of stuff happening in the movie, he'll be entertained

sci-fi action films are fun for him to watch too

he finds it interesting to see what creatures humans have made up

BUT

his all time favorite films are racing films

he loves the fast and furious franchise, cars, and gran turismo (im not big on racing films so im naming stuff off the top of my head)

he has similar taste in movies as raf since they usually watch stuff together

Bulkhead:

miko has definitely had a big influence on his taste in certain human things

however

miko LOVES horror films, the bloodier the better

bulkhead does not

he'll brave most the stuff she picks out to make her happy, but he's gonna have his optics squinted or closed most the time

therefore i think he'd like more adventurous feel good films

honestly i think he'd enjoy fantasy a bit, like LOTR and stuff

bonus points if theres some romance thrown in, not too much though

favorite movie is the princess bride

Arcee:

at first she was not interested in watching movies, like at all

too busy, too "boring", too blah blah blah

so the movie has got to have a GOOD plot to hook her in

she gives off the vibes of the dad thats always refusing to sit down and watch a movie, but ends up standing and staring at the tv, sucked into whatever's playing on the screen

she also prefers stand alone movies and not trilogies or series of films

again, shes just got too much going on

i think the only people that could convince her to actually sit down for a long time for a movie marathon are the kids and bumblebee if they begged her

if a character dynamic reminds her of cliffjumper and her, she'll get emotional and dip

Optimus:

euhhhh he takes a LONG while to convince to sit and watch a whole entire movie

he's busy busy

its not that he doesnt want to, he's just not used to... relaxing

like wdym he has to sit down for around 2-3 hours and do jack shit

so i feel like he's only seen a few movies

the kids manage to get him to watch most of the star wars movies and he loved it

favorite character is luke

gets ratchet to watch it with him and the kids occasionally so they talk about it sometimes

Ratchet:

at first, HELL NO, he's not watching a movie

BUT

he's easier to convince than optimus

since ratchet's pretty much always at the base, he sneaks glances at whatever the kids are watching

he enjoys comedies but you won't catch him laughing

and no that little chuckle was most certainly not him, nope, just the wind

("ratchet we're indoors" "there's drafts.")

sci fi films are his second favorite genre

similar to bulkhead, he finds it interesting to see what concepts humans have come up with for the sake of entertainment

also he hates medical dramas; he sees one millisecond of medical malpractice and almost flatlines

favorite movie is big hero six, he saw the kids watching it and thought it was heartwarming, but he'll never tell a soul

Optimus, using his antennae thingies/fins (idk what to call them--) to access the radio, dancing to Omae Wa Mou in his room, a contented little smile on his face :)

TFP Bday Hcs

The bots and how they'd celebrate your birthday! (It's mine today !)

CW: TFP autobots x reader, gender neutral reader, human! reader

Optimus:

He definitely understands the significance of birthdays on Earth, and would love to make yours special

That being said, he's not entirely sure what to do, nor do I feel like he would go all out on anything

Whenever you come into the base that day, he gives you a small smile and wishes you a happy birthday

Even if he was pretty busy that day I think he'd pause for a bit to ask about your day, how its been and if there's anything you planned to do for your birthday, etc.

If you decide to have some sort of mini party at the base, he's glad to be there but mainly hangs around quietly

Gets you a small present, but one that shows how much he listens to you and cares about what you like :)

Mayyyy go back to work sometime during the party, or head out early

He's a prime, it is what it is

Ratchet:

*grumbling something about birthdays and being too old to care*

Meanwhile he is in fact trying his best to get you a good present and make sure you have a good day

You come into the base and he gives a small nod and a "happy birthday" before going back to work

He takes you out for a ride with the sirens on !

And possiblyyyy lets you play whatever you want on the radio (do ambulances have radios??? is that a stupid question)

I feel like his present is either pretty small but meaningful, or either a bitttt over the top because he's trying so hard and stressing himself out over it slightly (as he does over almost everything)

At the end of the day you're both pretty beat, but he sneaks you a warm genuine smile

Bumblebee:

Spending the entire day with you!!!

Have a favorite video game? You guys are playing it!

Favorite movie? You guys are watching it!

He's super excited and wants you to have an amazing time doing the things that YOU want

Of course he takes you for a spin, either going really fast or just cruising around, its up to you today

He's a little stumped at first on what to get you for a present

Should he go all out? Or get you something smaller? Is he supposed to get you multiple presents??

He asks around for advice and ultimately gets you a couple presents instead of just one

Also wants to make you a card (but obviously can't because of his size)

So, while you guys are driving around, he stops at a scenic spot and tells you what he would say on the card, its sweet :)

Arcee:

Lowkey freaking out just a bit

She really really wants you to have a good day, doesn't want anyone or anything fucking it up

So, similar to Bee, she drives you around wherever you want

Now typically she doesn't let you eat or drink on her seat

Sigh but I guessss she can allow you today...

You munch a few bites as she pulls up to a spot thats significant to both of you

She transforms and you both sit together in comfortable silence at first

Eventually you guys chat about all kinds of things, especially good moments you've had the past year

If you have some birthday/growing up anxiety, she'll be there to listen and give you advice (if you want some)

Afterwards, she gives you a small gift, expressing how much she appreciates you being her partner

Bulkhead:

Ohhh boy

He's so so SO excited

Been counting down the days

Birthday present already planned and he's ready to hang out and make sure you have the best birthday ever

He's up for anything, and definitely taking you on a ride

If the ground bridge is working and stable, part of his present to you is taking you WHEREVER you want

You aren't getting out of his sight though, nope, you're not getting hurt in any way on your birthday

Tries his absolute best to make you a birthday card

It's so sweet but you can barely read it, but you love it regardless

(Frame that shit and put it on your wall right now!)

Optiratch HCs

i do believe saying "old friend" is basically saying "someone who's been there for me always and forever will be"

definitely not big on pda

though if there is, Optimus is the one to initiate it (trying to sneakily hold Ratchet's hand or something)

alone i believe they're all over each other, doesn't even have to be in a sexual way, they just have a lot to do most times and now they finally can relax with each other

they patch each other up, and if its from a really rough mission/situation they always need a hand on the other, to know the other is ok and safe

the whoooooleeeeee team knows whats up

Ratchet and Optimus think they're so sneaky with it

so they have no clue that everyone knows, but its ok <3

when they're alone together and resting (a rare moment unfortunately) they just talk and talk and talk, they talk about memories, the team, the kids, things they did this week, etc. anything and everything

i feel like they have a very gentle type of love if that makes sense

TFP HCs

Miko is terrified of bugs, especially spiders, because she thinks they're creepy and gross

Jack is terrified of bugs, especially spiders, because Arachnid.

Raf thinks they're creepy but isn't really scared of them unless they're on his leg or something

Ratchet nearly has a spark attack when Raf tells him how damn expensive his glasses are, which then brings June into a whole rant about expensive medical situations and needs

cue Ratchet being absolutely flabbergasted

Miko draws on the walls of the base, no one can stop her

a bit angsty, but I was also thinking of Bulkhead having some sort of digital collection of all the drawings Miko made for him when he leaves :(

Ratchet is the only person who's seen Optimus break down

i've debated if Jack could also see Optimus falter, maybe accidentally stumbling upon him somewhere in the base

i thought that Jack would be the most concerned and understanding, but honestly i think any of the humans in the group would be that way

Bumblebee has dreams he can talk sometimes, and when he wakes up there's a split second where he believes his voice box is fixed

Fowler snores really fucking loud

i also think June and Fowler would be a sweet couple, they start dating

Miko and like everyone else predicted this for a long while

Arcee thinks Smokescreen is an absolute buffoon but comes to see him as a younger brother

TFP Autobots and how they like to be comforted

Optimus Prime:

Yeahhh he's not used to it

At all

He's the one comforting others, he's the one who others can lean on, and he's the leader

Very used to handling things on his own and putting on a strong steady front

But Optimus has a great team, and they care about him just as much

I think he'd appreciate someone helping him out to ease the weight on his shoulders

It's not necessarily a comforting gesture but it eases his stress enough for him to be a bit more relaxed (I don't think he's ever been truly fully relaxed in his life though if we're being honest)

He only likes physical comfort from Ratchet, and he allows himself to be comforted by him the most

Optimus also appreciates comforting words from his team, including the humans

Ratchet:

OH boy

Oh boyyyy

You think OPTIMUS struggles with others comforting him and accepting it??

Ratchet is like 10x worse

He's the medic, he sees himself as someone who isn't allowed to panic or break down

It is quite literally his job to take care of others

But others taking care of him?? Comforting him?? Please.

Yet, as said before, he has a caring team

Ratchet's hard on himself, and they notice that

I think he'd want to be comforted similarly to Optimus, in the sense that he always appreciates people taking some stress off his shoulders

(And sometimes that includes Miko and Bulkhead shutting the fuck up and giving him some peace and quiet in the base after a hard day/mission)

Ratchet loves being with the people he loves too, even if he doesn't admit it

^^ He especially enjoys Raf's presence because of their similar interests and Raf's understanding demeanor

And of course Optimus, who's always keeping an eye out for his old friend

Arcee:

Okay damn barely any of these guys open up or allow themselves to be comforted much

Arcee puts up a tough front, and she IS tough

But of course that doesn't make one immune from needing extra support and comfort

Does that mean she'll take it? No

For her to truly accept someone's help, they have to be incredibly important and close to her

She needs someone to be able to talk to and for someone to listen to her

Arcee's lost a lot of people so it makes her have a hard time getting close to people however

It takes a lot of trust for her to let someone see that side of her

She doesn't need someone to give her advice or comforting words as much as she needs someone to listen to her, but she appreciates them regardless

I think Optimus is someone she'd go to for advice

But if she just needs a distraction or a friend, she goes to Bumblebee or Jack first

Bumblebee:

He seeks out physical touch and spending time with the people he loves when he needs some comfort

It kind of depends on the situation though

I think he's definitely a hugger (thinking about when he got his voice back and hugged Ratchet)

But I think the biggest thing that helps him is being around people

He loves his whole team but he's mostly comfortable with Raf, Ratchet, and Arcee I think

If he needed advice I feel like he'd go to Arcee (maybe Optimus? not sure)

If he's had a really rough day and just wants to go out, he'll take Raf out for a drive, sometimes bringing the others along

Watching and playing stuff on the TV at the base is comforting to him too, its both a nice distraction and fun

I don't like when people write/mischaracterize Bee as babyish or childish

^^ and that being said, I think he'd struggle a bit with allowing himself to be comforted, even if not as much as the others

I'm mainly thinking back to when he got his T-Cog taken away

He didn't really respond well to others trying to talk to him, and all he wanted to do was drive or hangout with the kids at the base for a distraction

Bulkhead:

He's a tough guy, he's a wrecker, you know how it is, he's the one taking the blow

He's also a very sweet and kind bot

Bulkhead often pushes away any comfort towards him, claiming he can handle whatever is bothering him or whatever is wrong

Not on Miko's watch

I don't think he'd really accept comfort that's super straightforward or direct

He has to be eased into talking about whats wrong

Overall I think he'd appreciate a distraction though

Thats where Miko's an expert at

She's always recommending fun stuff to do and her and Bulkhead have a million inside jokes that they die laughing at

He loves hanging out with the team and the kids, doing some sort of activity to keep his mind off things

Bulkhead would talk to Wheeljack or Arcee probably, if he genuinely needed someone to talk to

And physical touch would help, a pat on the back and a reminder that he's doing a good job
