Rose had been rummaging through her bag for her Dior lipgloss when she came across the pages that looked like they had been shredded and painstakingly taped back together tucked inside. They weren't hers, she'd never even seen them before now.

Curiosity getting the better of her she unfolded them and immediately her heart sank as she read her best friends name at the top of the letters, alongside the crests of several prominent New York City based colleges. Looking further down the pages she saw the words 'accepted' and 'offer you a place'.

It didn't make sense. Why would Tessa lie to her? Were these letters even real?

Her first instinct was to pull out her phone and immediately confront her friend over text, but she knew Tessa as well as she knew herself. Tessa would just avoid the problem and avoid her in the hopes that it might just disappear.

Instead she tapped out a short message asking her friend if she wanted to get coffee, that would be fine, right? Then she could ask her in person, and this would all be okay. @originalcuddlyporcupine
